NEW CCI for 2002 at Indiana Beach....no joke.....

..submitted as news, but I'll post here since Jeff's in FL.....I couldn't wait to tell you guys.........

The latest issue of Amusement Today arrived this afternoon and delivered quite a shocker to me - a new coaster from CCI for Indiana Beach!!!!!!!!  Mentioned both in an AT article and a CCI add, the second ever CCI indoor coaster "The Lost Coaster of Superstition mountain" will debut in 2002.    CCI will rehab the existing 3 floor dark ride (I wish I had ridden it this year, darn!) and create an indoor wood coaster "with an attitute" (made in comparison to The Underground).  The 2 car trains will face each other so you can choose which way you can sit.  Since there is no room for a traditional lift, they will also employ a new elevator style lift.

I won't scan the AT article since it's copyrighted, etc. ......however, someone has scanned the CCI add for proof, and here it is:

Nice job, Peabody!  I love substantiated news....:)

news you can use...here at cb!  As if SRM wasn't enough reason to walk on broken glass (if necessary, not JUST for fun) from FL to IN, now CCI has THREE rides at IB...hmm, # of CCI woodies in FL....hmmm....good thing I live close to the GA border!

WOW an Indoor woody! It won't have much hight or speed but this is great for IB! The best truly does come to those who wait!
-------------
So what is better? SFMM or CP? I don't care! They both have 29 coasters between them that they build so we can have a good time!
wasn't there ANOTHER coaster that was going to be mostly enclosed going up for next year, or is  THIS that ride and I'm just confused...

Gatorwoodie, the one you're thinking of is at Bells.  This one will be an entirely new kind of ride for CCI.

This new one looks to be quite different from The Underground (Indoor CCI woodie), and looks to be much more thrilling!

Yeah Peabody I was about to say The Underground isn't anything to get all hot and bothered about.  Its cool to see that this will be cool though.  Oh, and don't knock the Outlaw it kicks booty.
-----------------
Just wait till next year!
Valleyfairfan:  Whoops, that was meant to say the Underground, not the Outlaw.  Fixed it

(You're right about the Outlaw....it sure does kick booty!)

All I have to say to this is "Very interesting"!!!!!

Very cool. Perhaps it will have more dips than the current Superstition Mountain. It'll be nice if the keep the water element and perhaps add to the theme.

When I first read this article, I wondered, "Now where in the heck are they gonna put a coaster?" Then again, someone could have said that at the announcement of both the Hurricane and Cornball.

"I'll bet that thing hits 5 Gs going through that loop.....faaar ooouut!"

Sounds really cool... lets just hope that this isn't CCI's only project this year!

YES YES YES!!!!!!!

Beer, Hooters and Coasters. Is this a great country or what? ;)
what are the specs on the coaster? It seems to me like it will be only about 30 feet high if they are using the three floors of the dark ride.
Cool I already can't wait to go on it Memorial Day weekend next season!

This isn't a new ride, it's a renovation project. There isn't a new ride being built, just being changed.
ddogg,

While your correct in saying this is going to be a renovation project, I think there are going to be enough changes for it to also be considered a new ride.

In any case, I'm very excited about this and I can't wait to get to IB next year to try it out.

3 CCIs. What's the record?

My fellow Americans, let's roll!
I pray that I will never see a Six Flags Conneaut Lake
3.
Indiana Beach and Big Chief will be the only parks in the world to have three separate CCI projects.
Stampida and Tomahawk in Port Aventura in Spain have three tracks, but Stampida (sp?) is a racer.

Both within 100 miles of me!

I'm glad(and surprised) IB is getting another CCI, since Cornball and Hurricane are awesome rides, this one will probably follow in the tradition.
