My journey through life as an enthusiast.

I don't really HAVE to, but I've always made it a point to at least skim all the threads with new posts. (I live by the 'recent' link)

Likewise, and I'm not even a mod. Some subjects that don't interest me in the slightest may have gone off-topic enough to be worthy of a glance...though I do find myself skimming through most of the posts in those cases.

If this was 10 years ago, all the recent announcements from Six Flags would have my head spinning and I would be spending every waking moment here and on other forums reading and sharing my enthusiasm.

Now? I saw the announcements, thought 'cool', and had nothing really to add.

Yeah, this is pretty much me. Someone made mention of taking a trip out of SFGrAm for X-Flight, and I basically said/though "I'll get there when I get there." When I do, though, I'm riding Whizzer with Billy.

My disconnect comes in that much of the conversation lately is stuff that is simply uninteresting, I can't identify with or is exactly the things about the enthusiast community that irk me and I tend to shy away from.

Then start a topic about something that interests you.

I can't think of a single thing that would qualify right now. We've already done VQ, pricing and stuff like that to death. The list of 'interesting' is pretty short and I'm surprised I've squeezed 10 years out of it.

And I'd start a thread titled, "Why I Hate Coaster Enthusiast Mentality" but this very thread has served as a decent outlet.

The problem isn't that I need to be more interesting, it's that everyone else does. ;)

Maybe if everyone tap danced while typing their posts, it would be more interesting. Adding some x'plosions couldn't hurt, could it?

And CGI. CGI always makes things better.

I for one, don't want to see your poopypants in 3-D.

You'll have to settle for CCI or GCI.

Oh yeah! Whizzer is like butter :) If you get here during the first few weeks the park is open, you can stay on most coasters for re-rides.

Jeff, have you had the opportunity to hit PNE or Silverwood yet? Also, have you taken the drive south to Puyallup for the coasters there? The Fair is a blast, and the little one will love the animals.

I went to Silverwood. Was not particularly impressed. Might go to the fair, but it's not a high priority.

Well, I hope you get the chance. The Fair is pretty special. You can also give PNE a go. Coaster is fabulous.
