Most anticipated ride for 2013

Shane, similarly I was pushing a weight that probably would have kept me off Toro had I gone to Great Adventure last year. I can't wait to ride it at the thinnest I have been in over five years. Phoenix was a whole different experience, so I can't wait for some other rides (not being locked into Superman with a special key will also be no longer an embarrassing necessity).

And I didn't say congrats, so CONGRATS! I wish you a fantastic riding season!

Totally excited for gatekeeper (got the tattoo to prove that)

It would be hilarious if the ride sucked.

:)

I would put money on Gatekeeper not sucking.

Let me rephrase that I added Gatekeeper to my CP tattoo...that tattoo includes ms n maverick both of which I personally think suck. However I am pretty positive gatekeeper is gonna rock! :)

Whoa, hold it right there. Maverick sucks?!?! It can beat you up a bit, but suck, that's quite a harsh word to use to describe one of, if not the single best coaster in CP. Then again, that's just my opinion. I got trashed around for saying Shockwave didn't have much air. :P

You don't need a parachute to jump out of an airplane. You need one to do it again.

I think she meant to say MAGNUM. Magnum sucks. *wink*

^No way... with Wildcat gone, Magnum takes #1 spot for most fun coaster at the Point :)

To each their own. And to be fair, I rode Maggie twice, and the first time, I hated it and wondered what on earth people were thinking when they raved about this ride. I think I rated it a 2/10. The second time I got a much better ride and my opinion shot up to about an 8.5/10. Still, had I never ridden, I would never be sad.

The view though...well, that's a 10/10.

Magnum is only fun (IMO of course) in the middle seat of the middle car.

As for Gatekeeper, I'm pretty confident that it's gonna be awesome. I sure hope so, because I'm gonna be dragged (drug?) to CP every single day this summer by a muppetflailing 10 year old. (sorry, new favorite word of the week.) I already promised him opening day after he assured me that he could stand a multi hour wait if necessary.

I quite enjoy muppetflail as well. Also like muppet bounce.

A 10-year-old can easily take a long line when doing something they love. Took my 11 year old nephew to Great Adventure, gave him an energy drink, and just watched hilarity ensue. I thought I killed him on Nitro though.

My kid is a walking energy drink! We've never done this before, but I'm thinking perhaps the Nintendo DS might help ease the pain of an extra long wait. If it comes to that. I don't anticipate anything over 3 hours if I had to guess.

I've only been to 2 new coaster opening days at CP. Wicked Twister, which was not bad at all, and Top Thrill, which, well, ask anyone who was there. It was a disaster.

Magnum feels close to the same when it was new. Like an overgrown Mine Train gone mad (probably cuz that's what it is, similar to Gemini). In those early days, it was a huge deal. The technology is so much better (well, it was better then too, but Maggie was built by Arrow) and now there are much smoother, less cantankerous-feeling coasters to ride.

I'd love Magnum to death if it weren't for those restraints.

The layout and scenery are all done right. I'm just not a fan of triangular shaped hills for airtime.

The triangular shaped hills is why I love Magnum so much. :D

If I could have one coaster in my backyard (again assuming no size requirements) it would by Magnum. I can ride that ride, over, and over, and over again and not get bored or disorientated.

2022 Trips: WDW, Sea World San Diego & Orlando, CP, KI, BGW, Bay Beach, Canobie Lake, Universal Orlando

The best part about magnum is you get about a 2 minute ride for an average 5 minute wait!

The best part IMO is getting those darned restraints off of me.

The restraints aren't that bad. I actually like them. Like I said earlier, they are simple and leave room for air time.
