Mitch's Poll: Steel Coaster Results

I do get what your saying, and agree with it a slight bit. But then I think of TTD from Xcelerator, and can't Imagine that TTD is actually a *Better* ride than Xcel...

Though I could say that Ka may be better with that bunny hop than TTD:)...

You suck teckno STUPIDON.

OMG I have a new sig!!!
Ok, ok, I'll even ammend my thought to say that it's limited to B&M.. is that better? ;)

And I agree - Ka will be better than TTD (I'm waiting for the air on that "bunny" hill that ironically is taller than most lifts were 10-15 years ago!)

"Life's What You Make It, So Let's Make It Rock!"
Silly lush, it's Techno and sucking is for kids via Michael Jackson or your friendly neighborhood priest. :)

+Danny, listen trick I've had all I can handle

See, now why can't we all disagree and argue and it turn out okay? I mean, I think Danny is a whiney Beeyotch about CF, GL, and all, but I respect his opinion that differs from mine, even if it is wrong.

Oh, and Joe, there is no 'c' in Tekno;). I leave the sucking between you and...ummm...nevermind. Suffice it to say, I'll leave it in Orlando.

And Danny, its not Te-CH-no!;)

"Huh? What? Did somebody say My name again?!?"

But there is a "C" in Joe C. I got one!!11won ;)

You love me anyways Clint. Beeyotch~ Beyonce~ younger version of Janet. :)

I enjoy Cedar Point. I wouldn't have gone 8 times this year (being from Cinci-bus) if I didn't.

+Danny, the finest line divides a night well spent from a waste of time

You just enjoy riding the 'big penis', Danny. I know you;).

Man, do we have to wait till Solace to see each other again? 3 months is too long! ;)

You're going to share me with all those people at Solace like you did with everyone at Dollywood. Oh no, I just fell out of a Kevin Smith film about country music lesbians entitled Chasing Peppermint Patty. ;)

+Danny

I think it's a bit strange that Spinball Whizzer and (especially) Dragon's Fury don't feature on the list individually and are instead classed in amoungst the X-3000 coasters.

Agreed. I have not ridden Spinball Whizzer, as it was down the day I was there, but while it looked fun it wasn't anything spectacular. Dragon's Fury, on the other hand, is fantastic - I really liked that.

I want to meet the 51 people that rode King Cobra at PKI. It ranked 206 on the poll for this year.

It wasn't bad - it had it's time. SF has given up with elements.
Please. You make it sound like Gary Story made the design decisions when he was COO. Six Flags said, "Here's the lot, fit a ride in there." That's how they operated.

Personally,I think that Apollos Chariot at BGW is much better than SROS at SFA.

Thing is, Spinball is I think a Maurer 'standard' design for the X3000, but Dragon's Fury is most definately a custom layout which is why I'm surprised it hasn't been given a place of its own.

I can only guess that Mitch knew all of them as being X3000 coasters and didn't realise how different they actually were.

Yeah I was surprised at that as well, Marcus. Even if the Spinball layout is a standard design from them, it's still the first and still unique as of this year.

Not to mention the Deja Vu's all got their own spot. :)

And Richard, while I agree with you a little bit, I don't think you can really judge the ride fairly by "just looking at it." I'd much rather ride it and form my opinion!

Joe, who thinks both of those Maurer's look absolutely incredible and can't wait for more in the states!

OMG I have a new sig!!!

Fifth overall, third in North America ;)
The other two are in Taiwan and Japan

I am doing cartwheels that Magnum did not smell the top ten this year. The earth has finally found its axis!

Don't hate. . . . don't hate. It's only a coaster, I wasn't dissin' your momma or nothing ;)

Fate is the path of least resistance.

Picture if you will....Maggie, *set* trimless, with PR's trains...:)

NOW Maggie would rank up there with the RoSs and the PRs of the world....as it is, the brakes *typically* have hit too hard on my rides, and those trains....ugh! I think Maggie and Despy are tied for "worst trains" on a hyper...:(

Yeah, the Deja Vus stuck out for me, especially since Stunt Fall was rated so high. I do like Stunt Fall, but was surprised to see just how far ahead it was compared to the closest Deja Vu.

I'm inclined to agree you can't judge a ride from just first impressions really. Comparisons between SW and DF are close; I don't think SW is a far inferior ride, although it would be nice to prove this more scientifically with a poll result :)

I might drop Mitch an Email at some point next year (as I guess he's busy dealing with poll feedback at the moment, let alone Xmas) just to make sure he knows just how individual each of these rides are.

I'll take a stab at the DVs results and say *reliability* might've put StuntFall in the higher ratings bracket?

Also, I think Mitch would be more than receptive to constructive criticism, as he already takes great effort...wording the e-mail in a friendly fashion wouldn't hurt (a comment not for anyone in specific, just for everyone in general)...:)
