Nobody is "bashing" anyone (God I hate that word). This is like the third victim post you've made in the last day. Let it go already.

Ah, the shell days. How I miss them sometimes.
The "newbie" thing is FAR from new. It used to be limited to certain times of the year (August and September being the most prominent -- "Freshman syndrome". Incoming freshman at the colleges would discover this new and wonderous thing called usenet and go hog-wild.) Then along came AOL, and we had "AOL syndrome". Now, it's a more steady stream, but the basics are still the same.
I've actually always been more of a lurker than a poster. I've been reading and occasionally posting to rec.roller-coaster since its CREATION, yet most people there wouldn't know who I was if I walked up and bit 'em. (That's changed a bit of late, though).
My point? The more things change, the more they stay the same. There will always be people who come in and don't realize the environment they're in. Some will adapt, others will go away. In the meantime, let's try to be accomodating and patient, and let the CB staff keep the worst of the noise down.

Another reason for my suggestion:

When I first happened to find GTTP and CB way back when in 1999, I immediately wanted to be in the conversation. But I did feel a little out of place added to people's threads. I ended up reading up in the archived threads and such to get a feel for the environment. This cut down on questions that I otherwise would have posted as a new thread. I thought it worked pretty well.
But really, the problem has always been and will always be. There's no avoiding it, and the mods seem to be doing a fine job of keeping it under control, so if it aint broke...
