Millennium Force STATUS

According to Fox 8 who ran a story on the 10 o clock news last night, it said that it should be running by the weekend, but with a part coming from intamin it could take some time. This was after they talked to bryan edwards from Cedar Point, so good luck to you and the park in getting it right for the holiday weekend.

Yeah, it was a major bummer that it hasn't been open lately. I was there Monday-Thursday and never saw one train move. Still had a great time and met some awesome people though. :)

And saw some old friends as well, Corey! Yeah Millennium Force is rumored to go up tomorrow for the weekend. We'll see.
On the website, it says Millennium Force will not be open today. Bummer, hopefully they can get it running before the end of this busy holiday weekend. Dragster and Kingda Ka open and the Force is closed, never thought I would see the day.

The nice thing about being a grown up is I realize sh*t happens. Parks certainly would love to have their rides up and opened all the time. They hate breakdowns, especially when a holiday weekend or special event is planned and do everything in their power to have all major attractions up and running.

With all the other rides available, not to mention all the other attractions, I find it quite ironic that someone would be "p*ssed" that one ride is down.

And, Marky Mark, I understand your plight considering my best friend can no longer ride MF, but she is working hard to be able to ride again. She hasn't stopped going to CP, though, and has a great time regardless of her inability to ride MF. She certainly doesn't consider her trips to CP "for nothing".

^ Well, it's not completely "for nothing" but the 300 mile drive from Chicago doesn't seem worth it anymore if I can't ride Millennium Force. It just kind of sucks that I get to the Point after having lost 20 pounds and thinking that it would be a breeze to get that tricky seat belt buckled and when I get there I can't even ride it anymore...that's what killed me!

Then don't go... less people the better for me.

I'm sick of hearing people complain, "Well, if [insert coaster name here] isn't running, I am not going" or "[insert coaster name here]'s not running will ruin my trip." Don't freakin' go then. Did the park suck that much before that coaster was installed? No. Suck it up.

^ Um...I'm not complaining if the ride is open or closed or removed. I'm 35 and I understand what "down time" is.

Please don't worry. I won't be wasting my gas so there will be 1 less person in your way.

I really dont think its a rant thing (as Marky Mark has said) more of a "great now Ill have to wait for another oppurtunity to go" thing, kind of like when your day trip is canceled due to thunderstorms. You dont blame the park, you blame fate.

You know, I'm sick of hearing people complain about people complaining!

If I went to the park and MF was closed I'd be a bit dissapointed, I mean who wouldn't be? What's wrong with saying the drive from Chicago to Sandusky doesn't seem worth it if MF may not be open? I think that's totally valid, its a great ride and an awful lot of people would be bummed out no matter how many other awsome coasters are there.

I guess it's easy to blow things out of proportion sometimes when it comes to ride closures but the same can be said about folks who somehow have a problem with people who aren't too happy to make the drive and then see one of their favorite rides down.

I totally agree with matt.! People on this site flip out when people express any amount of disatisfaction towards a ride closure. It's completely reasonable for someone to be sad when a ride is closed. My drive to the point is 11 hours and I'd be really sad if a ride like Milly was closed after that drive, but it isn't the end of the world...

Just let people express their problem and get a life!

Just like people should be able to go shirtless at parks ;) ;)

I was there the weekend it broke down, we were getting our season passes processed when I noticed a train stuck on the lift. I saw it run the course at least once after they got the people off.

Quite frankly I was upset. It IS a major attraction and needs to be up. People go there to ride it, its closed, it sucks.

The fact it was closed was made even worse when after waiting over an hour for TTD, it broke down. I waited for about 45 minutes only to get out of line. As I was leaving it was running again, but still! I tried to ride it te night before, but it broke down a few minutes before I went to get online. They did open it back up way after the park closed which is cool, BUT STILL!!! So I went a weekend without riding either of their star attractions. Had I been from far away it would have been a dissapointing trip.

I am tolerant of these sorts of things, but the girl isn't. She would rather spend her time at other places/parks already, and when her favorite ride at the park is closed it makes it even worse.

I just hope it's back up by Frightfest.

I don't think it's so much the disappointment, but the comments that come across as if this was CP's fault and they should be doing a better job at keeping their star attractions open.

C'mon people. It's a mechanical issue. Things break. It's not like CP isn't trying to keep their rides running.

Disappointment I can see. Blaming the park I can't. Even the best maintained rides can have issues.

I enjoyed my visit last week, even though MF was down, CCMR was down, DT was down, SkyHawk was closed to the general public half the day for tv crews, and TTD was still up & down. I ended up having more fun on some of the small rides that I would have ignored instead. :) Sure, I was disappointed at missing my tradition of riding those coasters, but it's tough to have a bad day at a place the size of CP.
Well - since I started this thread I thought I would let everyone know how the weekend went. I managed to get 3 rides on the Force (2 Sat, 1 Sun)

I rode late morning on Sat. and actually got stuck and had the privelege of sitting in the break run for about 30 minutes as they could not dispatch the train from the station. I then rode later that day. On Sunday I rode under the window of a CP resort guess at around 9:20am. That was the last I rode. I wanted to ride more but decided to go to Soak City and watched as the maintenance cart traveled up and down the lift the rest of the day.
