Millennium Force STATUS

Long time member of the board, I am going to Cedar Point this weekend and I noticed that the FORCE has been closed the last three days. Is somthing wrong with MF?

My guess is it needed a new lift cable...but that's just a guess. I suspect whatever the problem the park is doing all it can to have one of its signature attractions up and running for the holiday weekend.

According to the website, MF should be up later this week. They need to replace a part.

Dutchy: I heard a couple of employees speculating that the downtime could be longer than "later this week." I wouldn't count on it being up, but you never know.

It's not a cable; that was still there when I went by yesterday. The PointBuzz Folks In The Know (tm) seem to blame the lift motor.

Yikes! With Millie down there's nothing else to do there. << sarcasm

Millie's down, Dragster is up. Once again the Force is in balance.

Thanks for the info everyone. Traveling from Green Bay and was hoping that MF would be up and running. It's been a few years since I have been to the park and was really looking forward to riding again. Hopefully by Sat. all will be good and I can ride again. If not I'll survive.

If it's closed don't feel bad...I travelled all the way to Mexico City only to find the giant classic racing woodie Montana Rusa closed.

Have fun this weekend...too bad you can't make it down to Holiday World ;)

Sorry to hear that Moosh. Sounds like my pilgramage to KBF and the only coaster running was The Boomerang. :(

I'd be very surprised if MF wasn't running this weekend.

Seriously, I'm sure it will be up and running as soon as the park can get it up and running. When it goes down, it usually isn't got very long... unless the lift cable snapped and they're waiting for another one. Not sure what the deal is over there in Sandusky.

Something was seriously broken this time, in some part of the motor as best I could tell from the crowd around it when it broke. It's unusual for them to be down so long, so it must have been really serious this time.

Somehow I feel like I've heard this story before... ;)

Pardon my sarcasm but...it really doesn't matter to me if it's closed because Intamin won't let me ride it anymore anyway. It has really been a blast the last couple years going to CP for nothing as MF is still my fav...oh well.

I think I'm going to cry! My group and I are headed there tomorrow after work. (we're leaving from Indianapolis) I really hope it's up and running by Saturday!

It would be wierd if TTD runs smoothly while Milli is down. I'm so used to TTD having difficulties. But oh what a thrill that ride has to offer!

I just hope all the coasters are open when I go to Coaster Mania next week or I will be very p*ssed off it is a 10hr drive and if either MF or TTD is down I will never go to CP again. It took me 6 visits to get 1 ride on TTD. I don't understand how CP gets the golden ticket for best park every year when it should go to a park like KW or Knoebles. I guess all the voters are CP fanboys.

Well, TTD was running well on Monday (5/22). MF was closed. I was not able to find out what was wrong with the ride. It was running on 5/16.

It's the lift "gearbox."

I will give my buddies up there a call and let them know your coming so they can be sure to have everything up and running for you. And while im at it i will contact every major manufacturer in the country and tell them to make every product sold from now on to be perfect with no defects. Because afterall, there is no reason something made by people should have any imperfections. (sarcasm) ;)

I believe Millennium Force is still single. I haven't seen any engagement news on the CP Blog. :)
