Mean Streak a Top 10 Wooden Coaster?

Mean Streak was voted a top ten woodie by readers of Theme Parks Magazine. If you don't like the results then subscribe and vote in next year's. It really is a great magazine.

Anybody know what the other 9 are? (Yes, I'm too damn lazy to research it for myself)

SFoGswim already posted the link:

Glad to see the Phantom made the top 10 steel, although IMO its better than all ahead of it on the list except Millennium Force. Oh well. Cool link.
1) Did you guys find that link off of the 2007 CP thread? Because I am the one that posted the link to RCPro.

2) What is so bad about Mean Streak?

3) Why does it have such a bad reppition?

4) Do you guys think that if a coaster is rough it is bad?

I have no problem with rough coasters. That is what gives it it's character. I don't mind getting beeten up on a coaster, I even rode Pyclone (SFMM) 10 times in arrow without getting off once!

Mean Streak never fails to give a boring ride, filled with no laterals, no airtime but plenty of washboarding. It always gives me a headache. I always say I am done with it, but every year some one has to say, "Its so much better than last year," but it never is.

Because the shaking causes brain damage.
One thing people need to realize is that voters in this poll are the General Public. A lot of the readers of the magazine are not die hard enthusiasts, but people who just like to see what is out there. Also from what I understand the readership of the magazine is pretty evenly dispursed across the US, so it is not like the only people reading the magazine are a bunch of Cedar Point fanboys.

Just a comment for you Raven.

I have been on both Shivering Timbers and Mean Streak several times, and, Shivering Timbers is ten times smoother then Mean Streak.

The last time I rode Mean Streak, my jaw hurt because the train shook the entire ride, causing my teeth to grind. And, it made my back hurt so bad, I had to sit down on a bench for an hour after riding. And, it made my brother so sick, he did not want to ride anything else after wards. he spent at least four hours just laying benches...saying never again! I won't ever ride that piece-o-dump again.

I Was on Shivering Timbers just a few days ago, and, only noticed a couple rough spots. Mainly in the swoop turn, a bit in the helix, and a spot just before the final turn into the brakes. But, those were not even close to the torture I received the entire ride on Mean Streak!

So where whoever thinks Mean Streak is a top ten coaster must have a very short list. kinda like this.

1. mean streak

2. mean streak

3. mean streak

4. mean streak

get the picture?

Lol, I've been on 11 woodies, so Mean Streak actually is in my top ten woodies. The only wood coaster i've ridden that's worse is of course Predator.
Mean Streak was my #1 in Mitch's last poll. What does that say?

It says you're crazy and should be shot for having your own opinion. If other people on this board don't like Mean Streak, then you sure as hell better not, either.

...

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!
;)
Yeah! Don't you know that the 'true' enthusiast argues not over IF MS stinks, but as to why it stinks and by how much. ;) The more credits you have the more your opinion counts. :)

Yeah is Good!

I rode both MS and SOB within a week of each other in early summer of 2003. I found SOB to be imminently more re-ridable, though I did not get the chance for a second ride on it.

I tried MS on two different days out of 3 spent at Cedar Point. My dentist reaped the rewards...

They Live. We Sleep.

Gotta disagree because its on mine. I just miss it when it was trimless. Those were fun days.
