Man leaves ferris wheel car at Hersheypark!

I was there at both incidences. I ended up helping the lady by Wildcat. She passed out, apparently from the heat (just ordered a cold icy drink). Dropped right to her knees. Her husband and I moved her to a bench and eventually the medics came and I left.

Seems like that part of the park was cursed that day. Isn't Wildcat and the Ferris Wheel like practically next to each other?

Certain victory.

Sorry to read about this sad turn of events (no pun intended), however does anyone know if the ferris wheel is in fact running again?

The park website claims heavy crowds 'start' around the end of July - can anyone pinpoint around when this mass of humanity descends on chocolate town usa? Hoping to visit before this occurs since previous visits to this park have always been dismal due to overcrowding. Is it worth waiting for 'dead week' when most schools are back in session except for handful of New England states? *** Edited 7/3/2008 2:52:00 AM UTC by Rye.D.Ziner***

However, the thing with depression is that you don't KNOW that people care about you. It IS selfish, but you don't even understand that when you're that down. You think you're a burden to people. Mental illness is such a tricky thing to deal with, so deceptive. I'm sorry this girl had to go through this, and I also feel truly bad for the people at Hershey that witnessed this as well.

Well said, Bunky. :) I couldn't agree with you more. :)

Suicide is something not to take lightly. I feel really bad for his family, especially his daughter who wrote that post.

People are a**holes. I can't believe some of those posts especially the dude suggesting he should get free Hershey passes for his "trouble."

If you can help it, go during the week. And don't go during a big concert event. That always seems to help me. And another recommendation: if you like Storm Runner, you'll truly enjoy Hershey this year because everyone's butt is parked in the Fahrenheit line. LOL And Lightning Racer is never a long line.

^God bless the Fahrenheit single riders line. ;) I was there on Friday and most of the coasters were walk-on. :) The park was PACKED, though. Dave Matthews apparently still brings in the crowds. :)
Damn straight Dave still brings the crowds!! :) May he continue to do so, and I will continue to be one of the thousands. Heh...

Argh, so YOU had good luck with the single rider line? I waited longer in the single rider line than I did just waiting in the regular line! I watched a girl near the end of the ride line go all the way up and get on a train before I even cleared the landing before the steps to the station.

Aaaahhh, that Dave show was fantastic. Really awesome. Gotta go before I start rhapsodizing.

Tina, I really appreciate the message about the guy who offed himself. Unless you've BEEN depressed, you really can't understand, so it's just as impossible to explain. Glad someone got it.

It was running normally on Sunday... and why not. The malfunction was with the rider, not the ride.

"Yes... well... VICTORY IS MINE!"
honestly, shut up
as I may get in trouble for even writing anything
you guys need to realize that not everything your saying is true
the incident at wildcat that day, isnt the one that was said
and the paper lied about the incident at Ferris Wheel
I was the ride lead at both of these incidents
and it was traumatizing
so just shut up because what your saying isnt true
and its not helping.

If you want to get over it stop digging up old forum posts on random message boards. Go see someone and talk about it.

Seriously. I don't understand why you needed to tell us to shut up when nobody was talking about it. Until you bumped it.

If that's your idea of haiku, you have way too many syllables.
