Kudos kingbob, the cars have an anti rollback feature on the wheels as well so that the cars will have trouble rolling backwards if the stop somewhere on the track. I doubt that it could have rolled back twenty feet.
Whoever it was that thought Cedar Point was perfect is sadly mistaken. Last the corkscrew broke it's chain right after those some six rollercoaster deaths. Well the media had a hay day with that. The people up front were hit when the chain came back down. They were barely injured, but the news would have it sound like all people on board the train died in a similar accident to the one bob described above.
Coasters break their chains from time to time and there is rarely any real permanent damage. The chain is fixed and things return to normal.
