It's official: X, Deja Vu, and Goliath Jr. are all coming to Six Flags Magic Mountain in 2001. You can read the official press release at the Six Flags Magic Mountain site.

See concept video of X and Deja Vu on the X page.

No, we can't let the Cedar Point thing go. Coaster are just one thing that make great amusement parks great, and SFMM just doesn't have any other great things in their park, besides the coasters.
I live all the way out here in Kentucky and I am just gonna have to figure out how the heck I'm gonna get out there to LA to ride those rides! X has got to be the coolest thing since sliced bread naturally but I'm also really intrigued by the sheer proportions of Deja Vu. It will be interesting to see how they launch the train. I'm betting on some sort of lift system like Drop Zone at PKI. Congrats SFMM on your new additions and your new crown. :) *** This post was edited by Joey Stewart on 12/19/2000. ***
Way to go Magic Mountain!!! I just wish that some of the other six flags parks would hurry up and announce what they're getting too! (i need to decide where to spend my summer, even though this coaster package is hard to beat) Also, magic mounain must of had a lot of money stored up. Goliath this year, year right after x, deja vu and goliath jr.!!!!! AWESOME!!
Hey Raven Guy---CP doesn't have any theming. I went there and to tell you the truth, ALL THEY HAVE ARE COASTERS. MM has way more theming, and yes, CP has won awards year after year after year. We need a new and better park. I'm glad the MM took the award, CP isn't the coaster capital anymore. Let's face the fact. It was going to happen sooner or latter. Anyways, These coasters sound great (except of Goliath Jr.) And I was wondering, do you guys think that the boomerang @ MM will be the same for GA?? I hope the one @ GA has vertical towers like MM's. Next year is an incredible season!!!!!!!!

THIS NEWS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH CEDAR POINT. I WOULD APPRECIATE IT FROM THIS POINT FORWARD IF WE WOULD KEEP THE DISCUSSION ON THE NEW RIDES, NOT THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN TWO PARKS THAT ARE THOUSANDS OF MILES APART. I APPRECIATE YOUR COOPERATION.

Whaddya mean there's no competition?!? Goliath Jr. is gonna blow Jr. Gemini's socks off!!!!! ;)

I hadn't realized that the 4th Dimension would be used like a flying dutchman. The video opened my eyes. It appears as though you leave the station facing backwards, like Stealth. I am not sure why they would do it that way though as the same effect could be achieved by tilting the seats forward with the train going forward. I guess they don't want you to be able to see any track from your "prone" position. That looks so awesome. I don't care where your home park is, you gotta find a way to Cali next summer!!!
Deja Vu is going to use a traditional chain lift on both spikes. Which will make for an interesting front seat experience. And X just looks insane, I can't wait!!! Anyone else at the press conference get a look at those seats? Looks like a bike seat with a 2x4 for a backrest. Truly a flying coaster. And like Todd said, this will hopefully pull lines away from the B&M greats. I can't wait for those ERT sessions on both these rides. And what is wrong with CP and SFMM having all coasters? After all we are "COASTER ENTHUSIASTS" aren't we??? You want flat rides, visit the state fair or local carnival.

Say no, to lap bar nazis!
X....the symbol for the unknown. Riders will certainly be in for something totaly new there.

As for the comment that the first drop on X will be too close to the drops on Deja vu. If I read it correctly, we are talking a near vertical drop, where the riders are paralell to the track. That's headfirst baby! Kinda like being pile driven to the ground. I dont know about you, but I've seen nothing like it.

Deja Vu really has me going though. The first thing I noticed was the funky cross over. I have to admit, I wish they would use LSMs to get up that back spike. I might have an accident with a chain lift.

go to cali
buy dramamine

Traditional chain lift? I wouldn't call any chain lift that pulls a car up a vertical tower traditional. If a cain is used I would imagine it would have to be a huge chain and electric motor. On a vertical lift hill woulldn't the entire wait of the train be hanging on the chain?
Hey Anti rumor. Good point. Can you say "snap". Maybe it's some kind of elevator system, I can't see putting that much presure on one chain. Could be a double chain or something.

You know what. I don't care about this CP and MM rivalry. Who cares who has the most coasters. Im just happy that MM is making these awesome coasters because I live close to it.
I'm with you timbo, I couldn't care less. All I know is that I'm going to be heading to MM quite a bit this summer.

X looks TIGHT!!!!!!
It appears, that in one fell swoop, Arrow just surpassed B&M, Setpoint, and Vekoma by integrating all their good ideas into one tidy little package.

If they can pull it off right, Arrow is back with a vengeance.

Vekoma, now, they've got a larger, slightly remodeled Boomerang. Woo.
Wolf is right. Magic Mountain makes no mistakes.
I'm absolutely sure X will be smoothe,no head banging, and will hold up over time.
Arrow's baccccccccccck.
well i guess im all alone but to hell with it i hate SF.i have to say t6his i will be smooth yeah right so is viper. *** This post was edited by duke on 12/20/2000. ***

Well, I see vertical spires on Deja Vu rendering, so at some point riders will be parallel to the ground, and from what's been reported thus far, it sounded like X's first drop is the same. (could be wrong, but most of this is preliminary info anyway until the ride actually gets built, so who knows.) It seems to me that a 200 foot drop, completely (for the most part, depending on angle of descent) upside down would be kind of painful, no? I'd like to see this coaster work, but there's a fine line between thrills and nausea, and in its initial incarnation, X looks to walk that line.....just my two cents, or half wit, your choice :)

Here's hoping that the new Arrow restraints aren't as hard to get into as Togo standups! (basically the same idea) Maybe if PKI gets that Arrowbatic, some of us will find out for ourselves! :)

(P.S. I hope X goes backward at some point too. It can, by doing half a barrel roll, and then rotating the cars 180 degrees.....or maybe I am hoping for too much.....)

WOO HOO! MY BABIES HAVE DONE IT AGAIN!!!!!!

I can't find bathroom 612!
I thought I heard that Deja Vu will use elevator lifts. I guess I heard wrong...

Have you ever gotten the feeling that you've been here before? Six Flags Magic Mountain 2001...

We may all bow to the new coaster gods at Arrow and Vekoma. X will be one of the greatest coasters ever made, assuming it does not make us sick. I now have an even better reason to go to So Cal next summer, unfortunately, I will still be in school when the Zombies coaster club goes out there. (Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!)

Everybody calm down, the coasters do not open for another fifteen minutes.
