Loudest Brakes you've heard on a Coaster...

I agree, Ninja's breaks are VERY annoying. To me it sounded like an elephant blowing air out of it's trunk... or something like that.
I'm going with Hypersonic, those brakes were hella loud.

"That's BS you MF! They're WT!" -- CP's R&D team
Montezooma's or Boomerang's at KBF.

I have been on a TOGO stand-up(Canada's Wonderland) and I didn't think that the brakes were all that loud. I would have to say either any boomerang or Steel Force's midcourse brake are the loudest that I've heard.

Where has the magic gone in the name Disney?

I don't know the layout of the TOGO at Canada Wonderland, but what probably makes King Cobra brakes at KI louder than Canada Wonderland's is that the ride queue phiscally goes right up to the breaks (about 10 feet from your head!).

The only TOGO I ever really heard, or paid attention to, was Manhatten Express, those trim brakes are very loud. Oh I paid attention to that ride till I went on it, then I said I could have as much fun hitting my head with a hammer.  And, I really never thought Monte's brakes were that loud, A) maybe I'm losing my hearing or B) haven't really paid attention to the brakes, but then I am used to loud things, like when I take my friend to Knott's he usually yells and screams. Oh I just thought of another one, Ghostrider's brakes at the end, when they let the air out.

Put down another for Hypersonic. So loud it hurts!
Millennium Force

I know alot of you think a magnetic braking system is silent...but geez!  When these trains come flying in at 65 mph, the brakes themselves shake...creating this incredibly loud noise!

Millennium Force: The 8th Wonder of the World!

I haven't heard excessively loud brakes, but the first time I went on the Revolution at SFMM, they made a cool whistling sound.
Reduction brakes is just a term that some parks (Six Flags) use to call the primary stopping brakes when the train is about to enter the station.  Most people just call it the brake run.

And I was mistaken... MForce has loud brakes, but they aren't the loudest I have heard.  I know they're magnetic, but they're still loud.

The loudest ones I have heard were the brakes on Viper (shuttle loop) at SFOG (RIP).  They're programmed to lock in right after the train clears the station, so every time a train was launched, they'd SLAM down inside the station, then they'd SLAM open once it was about to come back through.  It would reverberate through the station, in fact a lot of the attendants would wear earplugs when I rode it.

I'll go with King Cobra at PKI or any other TOGO stand-up.  The brakes from King Cobra sound like something got jammed in the track and caused the train to stop on the dot.

Brakes?  Sorry, you'll have to shout, I still can't hear well after making the mistake of standing under S:TE on the walkway...that was louder than ANY brakes.  The bang of the back of the train onto the brakes was pretty serious on Knoebel's Twister (airtime onto the brakes, COOL), and SFoG's GASM.

I don't know if it is the brakes or the wheels or the track that make the squealing. screeching noise on Mean Streak, but that is the most annoying sound on the planet.  It sounds like the axles are scraping the top layer off the track, and it's not just in one spot - it happens in multiple areas on the ride.
You know what.  I forgot about the late Viper at SFoG.  Ever stood in the station when that thing comes through?  I don't know how those ride ops could stand that for so long.

SFOG Viper (RIP), the only coaster I know of where they issued ear-protection to the employees staffing the ride.

Ya the boomerang is loud

rollergator is right, S:TE is louder than any brakes.  Sounds like an F-16 flyover.

You can't spell "dishonorable" without "honorable."
I will also go with Hypersonic as having the loudest brakes.  (And pretty hard, too.)   It is like all of a sudden you just STOP!!
