Rattler at SFFT looks awesome, and the helix on top of the cliff looks just plain sweet. It is the only ride I have felt bad after getting off (MAJOR headache).

Boss at SFStl. looks fantastic but then the G-Trains go ahead and just beat the h*ll out of you. I've never come off a ride with such a splitting headache.
I agree... I also had a terrible headache when I rode The Boss this past summer, which I had never experienced on a wooden coaster. I was sitting in the very back car for my first attempt. A re-ride in the front car proved to be much more enjoyable. The roughness didn't completely ruin the ride for me, but it certainly kept me from rushing back to the queue...
It's too bad really, because The Boss is one of the most beautiful wooden coasters I've seen. Maybe we were just unlucky and caught it on a bad day.

Raging Bull......
I was very surprised after I rode this ride for the first time. This B&M ride looks absolutely incredible but is pretty boring, IMO.
Note: That is just my opinion and not slander towards Six Flags! :) Thanks.

I disagree with Coasterman Mike about Mega Zeph and the G-trains. Zeph is one of the finest pieces of work CCI has done DESPITE the choice of rolling stock. It is "mostly" straight track, and less lats on the turns. The turns are where the G-Trains are bad, but they are tolerable on Zeph.

Nothing... NOTHING... can prepare you for... the Fourth Dimension!
I rode the Arkansas Twister and I belive its more of a maintence thing than the trains. Aster riding the Arkansas Twister at Magic Springs. I realized that the Gerstlauer trains hardly een makes the ride even more rough. The Arkansas Twister is a real smooth and airtime filled out and back roller coaster. The Gerstlauer trains didn't seem to be a problem at all to the ride, but actually made the ride better becasue of the noise it made when it got back to the que house. Anyway I enjoyied the ride and hope to ride it again soon. The biggest factors of the roughness of wooden coasters is the design, and the maintence of the ride. With The Villan at SFWoA I would porbally like the ride if they actually took time to maintain it so it wouldn't be soo bad. With the Boss @ SFStL both factors come into play someone has told me that the design of the ride has a big factor in it along with the maintence. To make the ride smoother it would need to be reprofiled or the trains to be replaced (not with PTC's it wouldn't help that much you would need the GCI trains on it to help) and the ride needs to be well maintained.

Are you saying the GCI trains are superior to PTCs? I've always regarded PTCs as the Rolls Royce's of the coaster train industry. They really are quality imo.
I think the consensus is that replacing the Gerstlauers would smooth out the Y2K CCI's, but are you sure PTC's wouldn't do as good a job as GCI's. After all, most of the most lauded woodies have PTC's. Or is it something to do with the particular layout of The Boss that favours the articulating GCI's? And is the layout really rough in itself irrespective of the choice of trains? (the reprofiling point you made). I just have trouble believing CCI could have messed up. They were, after all, masters.
I find it really annoying how a lot of the Y2K CCI's seem to have been adversely affected so much by the Gerstlauers. I really hope that some of the respective parks follow the example of Holiday World and replace them.
You guys are going to have to fill me in here - what's a G-Train? Is it a reference to a Gerstlauer train? A certain style of train or brand of train or what, and also, why are they so rough?

A large order of Bananna Split Dippin Dots - $5
The info provided to me by the one and only exclusive park insider (the dippin dots guy) - useless (not priceless)

PTC trains are whats on most woodies. There are usually 6 or 7 cars with two rows of 2 passengers.
G Trains are only one row of two per car and the front car has a bar.
Here is a link with a description and picture
I have never been on a gtrain so I'm not sure so maybe someone else can fill ya in.

If you want to be happy for a few hours play rollercoaster tycoon 2.
If you want to be happy for a day go to Cedar Point.
If you want to be happy for a lifetime help other people.
I'll add in some unmentioned ones:
Revolution-Magic Mountain can dress this coaster up for any photo shoot, but the ride is an entirely different story.
Aska and Psyclone- Can someone fill me in on how two considerably new Cyclones can become tremendously rough in such short time? The Coney Island Cylcone, Georiga Cyclone, Viper, Texas Cyclone, and Wild Wild West are aging pretty well from what I understand(excuse tamings). These two just don't follow the same story.
Magnus Colossos and Vekoma's Wild Wild West- I wanted a coaster, not a vibrating chair going 50 mph!

"...they came like a winged curse. A twin plague of demonic dragons!" - Dueling Dragons
Iron Wolf at SFGAm.
Allow me to decribe my day there. First coasters I rode were Whizzer and Raging Bull, followed by Demon (DJV was closed.. no surprise). Then we headed over to the left side of the park. We rode Shockwave, after getting done with this ride, I had not only felt dizzy, but had the worst headache I had ever had in my life. But, I would not let that ruin me from riding every coaster in the park. I took a dippin' dots break and then headed over to Iron Wolf. Afterall, the thing was a B&M Stand-up and looked incredibly awesome! I had to ride it or I would not be able to go to sleep that night. So, I rode it and I tried so hard to see the fun out of it, but my head kept banging against the sides that I couldn't! After I got off, I could hardley stand up or see straight. I had to just sit down on a bench and let the headache go away on its own. THAT coaster looked incredibly awesome, but felt like my head was caught in a helicopter chopper.
Wow, I think Iron Wolf is pretty smooth. I think you lost just a few too many brain cells that day. :)
Another one, I am not sure if this has been posted before or not, would be some of the old Arrow corkscrew coasters, such as the Corkscrew at Cedar Point. I ride it for the great airtime on the drops, but I can't stand some of the head banging in the corkscrews, although it has gotten better, or maybe it is just me.

The top 3 all time cobrarolls.
1)Raptor's
2)Deja Vu's (times 3)
3)Batman Knight Flight's
If it ain't broken, don't fix it.
I actually liked Hercules when I rode it this summer, and it wasn't rough either. That dive around the lake/creek or whatever is awesome, and the dive under the station caught me by surprise.
Anyways, I'd actually have to say the Boomerang clones are fun to watch and look really cool, but hurt as hell.
