Lightnin' to longer strike at PGA

Sorry, I meant a Schwarzkoph Launched Shuttle.

Man, this really blows wads. There were two shuttle loops in the US, now only one is left.

Umm, I count two, KBF and SFKK.

Incorrect, you are forgetting SFAW's 2nd Generation (Flywheel) Shuttle Loop, Greezed Lightnin', there are 3 left in the US to my knowledge.

Yeah, there are several parks with more then one shuttle. What's your point?

Too bad about Greezed Lightnin', although I'm not surprised either. Did it ever have a line?

You are about to discover what lies beyond the 5th dimension, beyond the deepest, darkest corner of the imagination in the Tower Of Terror.

TrickTrack, the ride was bought by Antons son, he will take the ride make it brand new then it will most likey go to a park there in Europe.

Assuming Wieland IS buying the coaster and moving it to Europe, the fewer *midifications*, the better. Should this come to pass, I'll be somewhat satisfied that at least the ride will remain in operation SOMEWHERE....glad I got to ride it when I did. Certainly wasn't the ride that Monte is, bt still an Anton looper....but the wait WAS minimal, what with everyone waiting for Stealth - even the Invertigo was a virtual walk-on...
That's funny because just the other day I was thinking of the possibility of Greeezed lightnin being removed from PGA,hopefully to go to PKD but alas that's not gonna happen.

They never should've removed KK from PKD seeing as how I never got a chance to ride it & they really oughtta bring it back but at least it's a great relief to know that Anton's son will be bringing GL "home" so to speak instead of letting it rust away in a field somewhere.

Not good news at all. I will certainly miss this ride, and I'm sorry to hear that Paramount couldn't save the ride in some way. Long live Zonga, Revolution and Monte.
How does one take an old ride and "make it brand new" to sell it?

Well, all I can say is that there is a lot of work currently going on behind Top Gun right now, so perhaps the reasoning behind the sale was to raise some funds for a new coaster? Perhaps the Intamin "Rebel Rocket" that was rumored? Who knows. All I know is I will miss Greased Lightnin very much. I still remember it as the Tidal Wave, and it was my first looping coaster. Sad, sad day.

Or it could be that when they build Rebel Rocket, they figured no one would ride Tidal Wave anymore. Then again, Knott's built Xcelerator alongside Monte. Oh well... what do I know.

Apparently I need to smooth a few rumors out. Firstly, Weiland Schwartzkopf purchased the ride for a few million dollars. The reason its' so much is because the ride is ALL stock pieces, unlike SFKK's, whick is a bunch of different rides clutches etc.

Second, the ride was removed for maintenance costs. It cost s at least $8,000 a day to operate and run the ride. You do the math, a seriously negative expenditure ride.

Thridly, do NOT contact the park and whine to bring it back. The ride IS NOT being torn down, but meerly packed up and sold to another place, where Weiland will take good care of it and make it better than ever.

Yeah.......and what proof do you have to back that up?

Wow, and to think I wasn't even going to post this here.

Demanding proff certainly isn't the best way to keep GAT and Coasterbuzz on the same page. Comprende?

Where does the 8,000 per day go?

Who in their right mind would pay 14 million for a 25 year old shuttle loop?

Weiland paid 14 or so for it because it was all stock parts. It's practically original! And the 8000 comes form all the old parts, old track, and general oldness.

I'm still not seeing proof. Sure you have a webpage about PGA, but that doesn't prove or mean anything. You could build 2 or 3 new shuttles for 14 million!

Doesn't even seem remotely possible. 420 foot 120mph brand new Intamin shuttle: $25 million 26 year old Schwarzkopf shuttle loop: $14.5 million? Doesn't seem likely.

Seeing as I didn't have to post anything, y'all should be happy you got something with two verified sources (See first post). Until then, post away at my "proof" cause I know it's true. The question is, when will you start believing me?
Coming as it did directly after Arrows Guy's post, I thought my intentions were obvious. However, I can see where things might be misinterpreted, so let me clear something up: My suggestion to contact the park was strictly advice to Arrow Guy, concerning his model, and had nothing to do with the ride itself.
