LeScaresville Lake Cancelled

Wabash Cannonball:

I hate to tell you but if you go back to the LeSourdsville Lake website, and click on Ticket Info (you may have to refresh your cache), that page has changed, and not for the better.

I too recall that September weekends were to be $9.95, however the website and the ticket cages at the park now have the price set at $15.75. Note also on the website the late-arrival special of $10.50 is only good after 6PM. Well on Sunday the park closes at 7PM, so you don't get that break until the final hour. (When I went the ticket cages didn't even advertise the $10.50 late-arrival special)

Of course, this is the same website that hasn't managed to put up any form of a Rides page (not even a text list), and still has the PR for LeScaresville Lake posted, but not a notice of its cancellation.

I have *always* loved how people say *not* to do something while doing the very thing they are denouncing. Like saying "I *could* say your momma has an afro with a chinstrap, but we should just stop talking about mommas."

So was the season a win or a flop for LSL? Anyone? Anyone?

Hostyl - I was under the impression that the Halloween event was added because the season had been deemed to be a "success."

I guess if the park opens again next year we'll know for sure.

Granted, Jeremy. Where did that joke about the afro with the chinstrap originate anyway? Was that Eddie Murphy somehow? Delerious maybe?

Go Gamecocks!!

chris: but that's the thing, since the Halloween event has been *cancelled* I'm wondering if that is a signal that the season did NOT go well. Since they weren't open this year around SRM (my only time *near* Ohio) I'd like to have some semblence of assurance that they'll be open next year.

And the first time I heard that joke was in Pharcyde's song "Ya Mama" (circa 1993) but I'm sure it's much older than that (but not in Delerious, I know, or knew, that movie by heart)

jeremy - That's what I was getting at by saying we'll have to wait until next year to know for sure.

I took the cancellation as an implicit sign that things did not go as well as may have been thought.

I'm sorry I passed it during the CPlaya 100.

I thought about stopping by en route to PKI, but then I got another late start....

First: I attended Lesourdesville for the first time this year and was very impressed. The park was clean, the staff was friendly, and well, the Screachin' Eagle was Awesome. I just hope the Lescaresville dilema was just because lack of complete planning for the event. True, until they had all their eggs in the basket they should not have announced it. However, all the credit to them if they felt they couldn't pull off a top of the hat event, and bit the bullet to regroup for next year.

Second: Chuck, I agree with your signature. It is a shame that Jeff had to call you out on it. Guess he just loves to throw his weight around from time to time. That is the thing with Liberals, they can't take the truth because they have problems speaking it. They waddle around the truth until they actually believe what they are spilling is the truth. Scary isn't it.

Third: I feel bad for those who may have had a bad day or weekend at the park. Most people had great expreiences this year. I hope those of you that had a bad day give them another chance next year. This could be a true gem right in our backyard.

First, Chris, I totally agree on the Gem part for Lesourdsville Lake. I had a ball on all my 10+ visits including the day with you and your son, The airbears, Screechfest ect. Except for a couple annoying employees, I enjoyed the park very much..

Second, I already said that I was not going to continue the political discussion but thanks for the agreeing viewpoint. Im sure not all americans are going to sit on their arse and let the UN run the show.

Bad days can be had at any park at any time. I agree with dave about the ride closure thing. They should have warned people before paying. However complaining about the price, parking ECT is moot IMHO. Heck, several rides on the Eagle alone is worth the $20 total per person YOU CAN"T EVEN GO TO A MOVIE and get a drink and snack for that.

Chuck, saying a far cry from $43 a person and $9 dollar parking which means if you went alone it would be $52 a person.

Is it about coasters or friends? I say both!

The Liberals are a collective faceless 'them'. They're all liars and evil and wrong because they don't share your opinion. They all have the same opinion and they all get together to talk about how to get rid of you.

That's right, they're all out to get you. They get your name and address and skulk around whispering in secret Liberal code around you. They told me so. The Liberals were all out walking the dog last week.

They all listen to the same liberal talk radio shows and listen very carefully while the head liberal feeds them a so-called 'truth.' They don't want to forget how to think or speak or phrase their ideology. They listen carefully to the ads during these shows so they only support other liberal-minded people. They get together on shortwave radio to share their liberal thoughts, too.

Hey, wait a minute....I think I have that backwards.

Nope you got it right 'Playa (Sarcasm) hahaha. Nice come back for a Liberal (Joking)

You really should have stopped at Lesourdesville. Screachin' Eagle is for real. I hope you will be able to make the trip there next year. They also have the wettest Flume I have ever been on. My only regret is that I never did this park when I was younger. We lived only 20 minutes away when I was growing up but I always chose to go to Kings Island....ahhhh the days of the Beast in the true wild and of course The Bat.
