Last of a kind rides.

I believe Mack just built a bobsled coaster oversees somewhere.

They don't make B&M Stand-ups anymore. The last one was in 1999, but people say they suck.

You Just Never Know

Just because they haven't built one recently does not mean that a park couldn't buy one. It's all about Supply and Demand, my friends.

Doesn't it seem as though morons always have the caps lock on?

CPLady, there is a super fun bobsled coaster in Kobe, Japan at Portopialand. They have lots of "oldish" type rides, whatwith their old Schwartzkopfs, etc.

Bobsleds:

SFoT has La Vibora and Great Escape has one too. There are five or six in Europe.

There are many Bobsled still standing and operating.

Also, EVERY B&M standup is still standing and operating, so stop bringing them up. The forum question wasn't about what types of coasters are out-of-production. The question is what rides are the VERY LAST ONE of their kind in operation.

I distinctly remember an article last fall about a Turtle/Tumble Bug in one of the closed parks up in Ohio that was still in good shape but was standing out in the weather.

I believe that would be Chippewa Lake Park, which was located a bit south of the Six Flags area past Medina. Their wooden Coaster and Wild Mouse I also heard are still standing, although there are several trees that have kind of pushed their way through the structures. I too have heard (but haven't personally seen) that Chippewa's Bug isn't in that bad of shape for just sitting there rotting away after over 25 years.

Coaster count so far this year: 1. What a way to start the year off though: Cyclone at Coney Island!

There are centrillions of bumper boats left, actually, I'm getting sick of them.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Cedar Point's Cedar Downs racing carousel. It's one of only two of its kind in the U.S. Does anyone know if any others like it exist?

So Dorney Park had the last Cuddle Up ? I used to love that ride. The last one I rode was at Hershey forever ago. I've looked for them everywhere. Did Dorney sell it or is it still there ? If they sold it, who has it now ? Somebody ought to publish an amusement industry almanac where all these esoteric details could be looked up.

Let's start counting:

Knobel's Grove

Martha's Vineyard(the most famous of them all)

Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk

Whalom Park had it

It seems that a lot of people have totally misunderstood what the forum is about. Chitown asked for rides that there were a multiple quantity of at one time, and due to old age or other reasons, have been removed. Therefore, that would eliminate B&M standups, Zamperla Rotoshakers, Mack/Intamin bobsleds, and Flashback from the thread.

The word "definitely" is definitely the most misspelled word on the buzz.
Vater-

The only other Racing Derby besides CP & Rey is at Blackpool. However, it was only patterened after the Prior & Church version, it was not built by them. Shameless plug: for more info. check out my site at:

As for carousels with the brass ring, in addition to Vertigo's list I can think of:
Balboa Park (San Diego)
B&B Carousell (Coney Island)
Two I am not sure of:
Crescent Park (RI)
Park in Logansport (IN)

There are others out there, I just cannot name them. A lot are stand-alones in city or county parks as opposed to amusement parks.

oh yeah I almost forgot! those little miniature trains that you use your hands to make them go. I have no idea what the official name is for them.

Idlewild has the little cars you crank to make go. It's a kiddieland ride, but the cars are big enough adults can ride them.
