Last of a kind rides.

Im suprised no one has mentioned B&M standups. There are some operating but I dont think anymore will be built.

800,000 years in 7 seconds: Time Machine the movie or next S&S creation?

I distinctly remember an article last fall about a Turtle/Tumble Bug in one of the closed parks up in Ohio that was still in good shape but was standing out in the weather. Someone was trying to organize an effort to buy it, dismantle it, move it to any park that wanted it, and restore it to mint condition. I don't live in Ohio so I could not volunteer to join the effort, but I remember there were even posts about the situation on various internet sites.
Wait one second! There is some sort of Arrow suspended coaster going to the ne Speed Festival in Spain, the new park that opens in September 2003. The park will include an Intiman hyper coaster, Mack bobsleigh, and an Arrow suspended coaster.

Don't forget there are only 2 roto -shake rides operating in the USA.KBF's Hammerhead and SFA's Iron eagle.

Actually, there are 3. (That's still not a lot, it IS a rare flat-ride). The third one is at, what do you know?, Knott's Camp Snoopy at the Mall of America. It's called The Mighty Axe.

Yeah I totally forgot about that one.

How many Rotors are left? Hershey had one until a few years ago. That was the only one i've ever ridden.

Great Adventure and Lake Compounce, among many others, still have their Rotors...

We had incredible fun on the Rotor at Kennywood, which is the one now at Compounce. As high school kids we used to take a beach ball with us. We had this theory that with the centrifugal force pulling the ball to the rim, there had to be a point exactly in the middle where the force would be perfectly equal, so the ball would hang there if we could ever get it to that exact point. So there we were, 16 year old science geniuses, trying to ignore the Rotor's pulling on our own bodies while we batted this ball from one side to the other. Then we all went off to college and discovered there wasn't any force on the ball at all. The only force was us batting it back and forth, or any air currents swirling around. The rim of the Rotor didn't exert any gravity on objects floating in the middle. So much for our scientific brilliance at age 16.
Bumper Boats, parachute rides, whips, mini motor boats(knoebels), grab the brass ring carosels(knoebels again)... many more

Coaster count so far this year: 1. What a way to start the year off though: Cyclone at Coney Island!

The Racer at Kennywoods is one of only 2 racers that changes track during its cycle which makes it an historic ride. B&MRULES!!!!!!

Make that last of 3 racers. You forgot my favorite, and the only one I've been on:MontaƱa Rusa@La Feria Chapultepec Magico

Also, doesn't Twisted Sisters count, because I thought you came back to a different station or is it when you get off you can go to the train across from you and ride the other one?

Marimba: Holiday World has a bumper boats ride. Coincidentally, is located near the bumper *cars* ride.

Besides, if we were really shutting down people we disagreed with, would Jeremy (2Hostyl) still be around? :) I think not. - Jeff 1/24/02

Going way back in the this thread. I haven't seen the small whip at Enchanted village, but I have seen the small whips at Kennywood and Knobels. The Kiddie whip at Trimpers is distinctly different from the ones at Kennywood and Knobels. It is both smaller and much more ornate in its design. The sides of the cars are carved to carousel standards and the seats have tufted upholstry. I tend to think of the small whips at Kennywood and Knobels as "junior" whips, but the one at Trimpers as a "kiddie" whip.

l. Kentucky Kingdom has a little whip.

2. I've never seen another Auto Ride like the one at Kennywood.

3. Where are the remaining Double Ferris Wheels ? Are there any left ?

Let's see, Hersheypark's Intamin double wheel, I beileve there's one more operating someplace in South America or someplace like that. They also have a sky ride with open cars where your feet hang out, anyone know where theres any more of these?

Bushkill Park has metal bumper cars like the ones at Knoebels, and they also have the only fun house with a spinning barrel, and they have an old Pretzel dark ride.

Dorney Park had several last of a kind in North America rides until they were removed in the past few years, last PTC Cuddle-Up(Iceberg, Meteorite), last PTC Mill Chute(Journey to the Center of the Earth), Water Scooters(does anyone know who the manufacturer of this ride was? were these built in house by Dorney like the old Zephyr train?)

I wrote that so we wouldn't continue simply talking about rides of antiquity, that there are infact modern rides that are rare or one of a kind.

Texas Coasters... wow I'm lucky... IM me if you feel like talking about coasters.

Heck Valleyfair and Riverview Park in Wisconsin Dells still have Bumper Boats.

However, for some strange reason my shoes always smell of gasoline after I ride em at Riverview.

Flume & Hydroblaster Crew for 2002!

I can't believe that after two pages of posts I am the first to chime i with this one!

It was the LAST of its' kind ever produced. It was also the FIRST of it's kind ever produced. It opened in 1985 and it still operates today. The amazing B&M designed, Intamin made Hair-pin Drop coaster at SFMM:

FLASHBACK! (formerly Z-Force at SFoG & SFDAm)

My all time most hated coaster! Arrrrrrghhhhh! :(

I've traded in my 2000 Giovanola for a 2002 Arrow X4D :)
My other car is now an Arrow X4D!

What about the bobsled coasters? I heard there aren't many of those left. Disaster Transport is one. Where are the others?
