Knotts Berry Farm Progress

Actually the only thing they have progressed mostly on since finishing the flat spin has been the station work. Supports are up for the next flatspin, but track pieces haven't been put up yet, and probably wont be up until next week. As for the helix, they haven't even started on the supports for them yet, and when they do they will most likely start from the helix's lowest point, to its highest point. (In order to keep the upper half of the helix out of the way of the lower half as they do the construction) Perhaps by next friday, the circuit will be complete. The station is coming along rather nicely, however.
And here's an even more recent update from yesterday, can now walk under the Cobra Roll!:

That's pretty quick work getting the pathway by the cobra roll going. I was there on Sunday and it was still dirt. Granted, they were doing some work on it at the time.

Good to see. I've got some cousins that are looking forward to riding this.

The placement of helix track and supports is in progress for Silver Bullet.

They have planted a good number of cacti underneath the track leading in and out of the cobra roll.

Lots of cement paths have been poured in the vicinity of Silver Bullet.

Knott's version of the S&S Screamin Swing has been fully constructed and is now vertical. Looks like a cool ride.

Knotts Halloween Haunt- Everyone has to go sometime....

Yeah, the cacti "foot choppers" should be a nice touch once they're all grown in!:

Also, here's some new views taken from inside the incompleted station:

On the KBF entrance it says:
"America's 1st theme park"
in what way is KBF America's first?
Is it the first theme park to ever open? Or are they considering themselves the best?
When Walter Knott started bringing in relics from the desert southwest to build Ghost Town to give the people waiting to get into the Chicken Dinner Resturaunt something to do,"themed" attractions of this magnatude were all but unheard of. With the addition of the Ghost Town and Calico RR, and soon after the rides owned by Bud Hurlbut in the early 1950's it was a full blown park, predating Disney by at least five years

Looks like we'll be able to walk on those new paths this weekend as they'll use them for Haunt.

mOOSH [mouth watering]

Now I need a *really* good reason not to go to Solace. I'm glad to see the B&M Invert is still alive and kicking harder than ever! But Silver Bullet... This thing's "loaded"! :)

Yes, it's considered the first themed amusement park in the country.

Ready? Aim...Scream!

Isn't that already the slogan for M:TR? ;o)

So Silver Bullet should should finish trackwork today. :) Yesterday, the helix was complete and all that remains are two straightaway pieces leading into the brake run.

In other KBF news, Halloween Haunt starts tonight! 12 mazes and 4 scare zones this year!

That works, too, Mike ;)
Yes! I was at Haunt last night 9/30 and the trackwork was indeed complete. Workers were all over the thing tightning up bolts on the footers. Some other workers were doing something on the lift. The ride looks absolutely amazing. Should be an awesome ride. They will be ready to test soon I am sure. But not before some fencing goes in. Right now you could easily walk under and get hit by a train in a number of places, especially by the front gate.

In other news...the Screamin Swing thing opened up yesterday too. $5.00 a pop and a very short cycle. Wasn't worth it to me so didn't ride. Not many others were either.

'Buf - While I haven't seen the swing in action I gotta agree, it doesn't seem like something that would be overly thrilling to me. Still, for $5 I may give it a whirl.
Well Moosh, not only does it not seem all that thrilling, and not only is the cycle too short, but I have to wonder what the thinking was on this. They already had two rides that swing back and forth (Dragon Swing and Revolution). Did they really need a third? And an extra charge at that?

The good thing though, is that at least the ugly air tank has been moved next to the ride and away from the mural on the back of the theatre. So at least that isn't ruined anymore. And I guess it's better than using that space as a BBQ eating area. Though not as good as Haunted Shack was or a Sally Dark ride would have been.
