K'NEX Rides!

Nitro230, do you have Meijer up there? How about Target? Both of them carry the KNEX kits in Columbus.

Damnit, rack that up as another reason to move to the US. The SS is not & may never be available down under. :(

I tried the where to buy links from the K'nex site & all are sold out or can't ship overseas.

How much is it from Target? $80? The cheapest I've read is $60, forgot where. Anyone know of $50? :)

I wonder if one of you would be so kind as to buy me a set & send it to me. I will pay you back & for the shipping costs. I promise to send photos & videos (when I get a digital camera) of my layouts. Actually I'm after at least 3-4 sets & plan to fit my fully ball-raced B&M Inverted train that I built for my final school year project onto it. I'll build a layout requested from you.

I'll try to recreate my fave coaster, Kumba. A trick may be to make the track as rigid as possible - supports on almost every tie. Ball bearings will help & yes, every inversion would have to get drastically smaller than the one before it. Plus I have an idea for a TA2K that I was gonna build out of LEGO, but would rather do it with K'NEX.

Thanks,

Kev.

Hey Taipan.....Why don't you just get a fellow buzzer(who you trust and know) and get them to but it for you, then when you get it, just simply remburse them.  Or, do it the other way around.  Send them the money then they get it and send it to you.  Couldn't that work?
I can't find a SS anywhere. I have been drooling over the possiblities and now that I am out for christmas I am still drooling, because I have to live in Arkansas were I am still awaiting a steel coaster with a loop. What a great state I live in!
Mikerose2, try looking on eBay under K'NEX. There are always some over there!

Sheesh!  Why aren't they cheaper here in San Diego?  It took weeks for me to finally find a set (screamin serpent) and I could only find them for $90.  Probably should've waited until the prices went down.  But i think it was worth it.

SS is awesome, but it goes too fast down the track. I made the bunny hop taller, so it slows down at the top ad gives you more time to enjoy it.Then, it quick making it to the top one day, so I made the hill smaller, but still bigger than original one. It runs good.
Wow, these are helping me a lot with what I need to know about the SS sets! :) Thanx all!
I will be getting ten of them in April. They have been sold out for the year and I am buying them from Target. I have been saving up for a long time. I am going to be building a really big track. As big as i can get it without having it fall over. I wonder how high I will be able to get it. Who knows. I guess I will just have to wait!
Ten?? Can I have some? :)

Are you gonna build a layout similar to the huge one linked at the top of the page? Or a more traditional coaster with full drops & giant inversions?

I dunno, ask Jeff. Usually I try not to edit my post more than once or it'll screw up.

What? No-one wants to buy SS kits for me? :( Just kidding about the :(, :) Looks like there's no rush as they're all sold out 'till March/April as Sidewinder said.

Use the "plain post" editor to fix it. It's yet another IE bug. :)

I got the SS for Christmas and put it together. It works great. I want to get the motor that you plug in. Does anyone have this motor on their model? How does it run?
