#3 on the list was supposed to be "not made by the same folks as StR", right? Or is one Intamin and the other Intaride (i.e., a distinction without a difference)?

Or, my bolded letters is just another "clupea rojo" :)

Maybe it's just my perception, but even on busy days at Kennywood the Pitt Fall rarely has more than a 5 minute wait or so.

I was there 2 Fridays ago and waited about 20 minutes will all sides running.

I wonder what the vomit radius is on one of these things at apex and spinning full tilt. :)

Many factors would come into play. Some of which would include: wind speed and direction; duration, speed and consistancy of vomit.

Yup. That would be Funtime. But as I understand it, Funtime is not providing the ride for Cedar Point. Rather, they've gone with another company who is producing a "knock-off" version.

That is literally the most terrifying thing I've read on a coaster board in a very, very long while. I hereby rescind my previously mentioned excitement about this ride and throw my hat firmly in with the "no flipping way" crowd.

The bold letters that make up "intamin" was a joke.

^ But how do we know that this post isn't also a joke??! ;)

When aren't my posts considered jokes? :)

When they aren't funny?

Wow....This is an ....ummm...exciting thread.;)

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

This is from Screamscape, apparently there is a giant present box addressed to Snoopy near Planet Snoopy that says not to open until August 8th. Does anyone know more if this is for the new ride/area or just one of their tricks?

EDIT: There is one at Dorney as well, new Planet Snoopy's?

On Sunday, Aug. 8, the “unofficial PEANUTS 60th anniversary,” Cedar Point will open at 10 a.m. with guests and employees singing Happy Birthday to Snoopy. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., guests will be able to stop at Camp Snoopy to sign his birthday card and to decorate their own Snoopy mask.

Since Cedar Fair has filed for the name Stratosoar, and since we seem to agree that it's the likely name for a gi-normous whoever'sgonnabuildit Starflyer, have we stopped to consider that it may not be heading to Cedar Point at all? I'm considering the notion that it may go to Kings Island,- it would be perfect in the empty/upcharge space that was Flight Commander - the footprint is the right size, the platform is already elevated, and that great underground queue is still in place. It would also add some badly needed action to that corner of the park, and I've heard rumour that a flat of some kind is on the way .

It would also leave is to reckon that CP has other plans in mind, and with markers being cast far and wide and a ride for sale, that just might be the case. Oh no..... unless, of course, they are planning the same ride for both parks. (Get out of my head, bad thoughts! please! leave me alone!)

It's going to Cedar Point.

I have no idea what the ride will be but a Starflyer makes sense at the DemonDrop site. It would look great on the CP skyline, fits the location well and is reminiscent of the many flyer rides of the first half of last century. Granted I would never ride it myself... but would love the WOW aspect it would add to the park.
