Kings Island new Coaster 2014

Gonch's artwork looks like any other dinosaur to me...the long neck hints at a Sauropod.

New for 2014: Dinosaurs Expand!

*chuckling* Love this, thanks, Lord Gonchar.

Does anyone have any guesses on when Cedar Fair will announce this new ride? Is there a special event scheduled in June?

Leviathan was announced on August 18th. Gatekeeper on August 13th.

Given that the construction on the site has started so early, would the announcement be pushed back or is there a tradition to how Cedar Fair does these things?

It will probably be announced in mid-August like most CF announcements.

It will likely be pretty clear what it is well before that.

People will likely deny what it obviously is right up to the announcement.

See also, Leviathan, TTD, Tomb Raider....

Traditionally, Decker won't be there planning AFTER a new project has started unless they're planning a few years down the road. He does show up during construction, but at that point everything is planned and scheduled. If anything they were going over progress.

Also, if he was challenged by Ouimet AFTER Gatekeeper, then it certainly is not the current construction project.

If he was there with some form of plans for the current project, it is more likely cosmetic plans than technical drawings.

Gosh, maybe we should all go to BeastBuzz.

Imagine the timing.

I'm probably going to be a coasterbuzz club next year, but it would be cool to go to Beastbuzz.

There should be an ERT event at Michigan Adventures, for Timber-Rider's sake. Call it Timberbuzz.

Aren't they still doing Timbersfest?

I think that ended two years ago, and caused a local chiropractor to go bankrupt.

Was that an isult on Shivering Timbers?

I don't know, was it?

"If you really like something, you'll want more of it." So a 308' tall green B&M giga coaster, similar to Leviathan? I guess a green Banshee is better than a purple, yellow and red Mantis.

I rode Diamondback a few times in 2011. It seemed to have a good amount of B&M 'rattle' in the pull-outs. Is this due to the staggered seating? Do Leviathan and Behemoth have rattle?

Behemoth was the first b&m with staggered seating. Leviathon doesnt have the staggeration, though.

To me, Intimidator Carowinds is very un-shaky. It has staggered seating. Raging Bull is an example of a four seater with shaky-ness. It doesn't matter about the seats.

I briefly spoke with Don Helbig this morning while walking to Diamondback for an early ride. After a few words of greetings, I asked him, "Can you tell me anything about-" and then I stopped. I then finished with, "Of course you can't, but maybe a clue or something?"

He replied with, "No... I can say is that we are building something for King's Island's future."

I said, "You're really good!" lol

So something is coming. That's all I could find out at the park today. lol

Well, that clears everything up.

Hi

So it's either a Tardis or a DeLorean?

No, both of those can go both into the past as well as the future. If it's for Kings Islands' future, it must be a Farnsworth machine that can only go into the future.

I emailed KI about giving me info on their new coaster. Hopefully they give me good hints.

Would you mind sharing the email you sent them? If I emailed them about a new ride, I would have sent something like, "I work for a company contracted for construction of your new ride, but I can't remember what it was called and my coworkers keep teasing me about it. If you could direct me to the persons in charge, I can get this cleared up. Thanks." Because that will undoubtedly get me all the information about the ride. :)

Not to be a naysayer, but they won't tell you anything in an email that can be copied and pasted all over the internet.

Tyler, after that, you should e-mail the Department of Defense about Area 51.
