Kings Island event coming in May

Well... I'm out, then. So much for my first attempt at a coaster gathering. Looks like a great event... sux for me.

Hi

Thanks for the clarification, Jeff.

Yeah, thats a bummer. It was going to be our first CoasterBuzz gathering. Oh well, guess we'll shoot for Coastermania, and look forward to BooBuzz.

I recently mailed in my family membership renewal ($30 for 3 of us, you can't beat that) partly because it's up in April and so I'd have the cards for this event. I know with Jeff being out for a couple weeks, he's not going to have much time so I wanted to get the renewal in early. So what am I getting at?

If you need your CBuzz Card for this event, you better sign up VERY soon.

Hey kpjb why don't you have your wife join CB? It is only $20 and a great way to support the site and get her into KI. And from loriu's post it sounds like there is a family membership too.

Just checked out the CoasterBuzz Club page. Families are up to three more members for just $5 each. That is a great deal!

That's surprising but good I guess. Should keep out the riffraff. :)

You must be a paid member to attend this event (and have the appropriate ticket). Guests don't count in this case.

For CP's Coastermania, a club member may bring one guest.

See the following link for additional clarification to this:

When do the tickets go on sale?

kpjb -- from reading that link it sounds like you CAN bring a guest. However, guests pay the ticket price (~$48) so if you have a pass, it would be cheaper just to join the CB club.

On that note, I guess I'll register my (decidedly non-enthusiast) roommate as a club member since she'll be drug along. Jeff, would you expect to have cards mailed out in time for this for registrations submitted this weekend? I know it varies.

I'll be back around tax day, and will churn out some cards that week. I should think that if you get your membership in between now and then you'll be fine, even with the pathetic delivery time of the US Postal Service.

Thanks muchly! :)

Gah! Argh! I have to work! Bummer!

Sounds like a great time though. Hope to read lots of trip reports everyone!

Looks like they will finally get around to announcing some details on the event tomorrow. KI Central has the scoop and they are typically well connected in knowing park details.

The ERT schedule is weird. Diamondback only at night, but for a long time. Beast at 7am. Vortex?!?

Since I have no classes looked through this this summer, I started thinking about this trip when I saw some really cheap flights, even though I'm coming to HWN. After a brief look-see through this thread, I didn't see this come up yet, so here goes. If I pick up a pass but only have a voucher/e-ticket, is that going to work for admission to early ERT on Saturday? Kinda assume so, but thought I'd double-check to be sure....

No night ERT on The Beast? What the Hell is KI thinking?

The "say" is that it won't, and that you have to be processed ahead of time. But, I also happen to know that the voucher/e-ticket allows you one entry on its barcode before it has to be processed.

Honestly, to be sure, I would call the park (and even then they might not give you a reliable answer, ha ha.) I would think you could talk somebody into it that day, but what do I know. Is processing Friday night an option?

The ERT schedule is strange. However it was exciting to see BLSC on there -- it may not be amazing, but it's nice for my roomie to have something included in ERT that she actually rides. I feel less guilty about dragging her along now, LOL.

The bar code on mine didn't work. I had to process.

Mine didn't scan either, but they were able to key it in. Well... the first girl (who apparently didn't feel like typing the number in) sent me to another turnstile, who was able to key it in.

They had to key it in while processing, as well. So YMMV but if it won't scan, it's worth asking.

I signed up for the event as soon as it came on line. Hubby and I both GOCC'ers but I am a Coasterbuzzer too. Will add hubby to that when membership expires in October-great deal! :)

Can not wait for this event. Went to KI today for some more DB-can NOT get enough of that coaster! :)

Hoping to sign up for it. Submitted my CB Membership in the mail, hoping I can get my cards on time for this! It looks like a lot of fun, I'm axious for The Beast. It's my all time favorite ride, ranking higher than Cedar Point's Magnum. And that's if Diamondback doesnt beat either of those, but we'll see.
