Kingda Ka breakdown NOT Intamin's fault, not to open this year (taken from XC)

I am quoting Xtremecoasters.com below,

"I have just been informed from a very reliable source that Kingda ka will not be re-opening to the public this year. By confirmed information given to the source, it will cost Great Adventure several million dollars to fix the second half of the launch track, as well as one of the trains that was badly damaged when pieces of metal started flying in all directions after it did a test launch back in early June. It has also been confirmed that the accident on Kingda Ka is not the fault of Intamin, which is the ride manufacturer, but ride maintenance workers that made a terrible decision when working on Kingda Ka. This information of course, will not be released on the Six Flags website, because officials were trying to keep everything under wraps"

ha!i cant wait to see the look on my friends face when they see it is not open

i will be going to SF:Great Adventure on the 21 or 22 and the 30th
Umm, that is just a rumor and is most likely untrue for the simple fact they are powerwashing launch track, have turned power back on at the ride, and turned the strobes back on. Also, the train that was damaged is back and several people at the park have heard the launch horn. I highly doubt they'd do all that just to keep it closed the rest of the season...
great!i just called everybody up to tell them that -_- but i still got 13 days

i will be going to SF:Great Adventure on the 21 or 22 and the 30th
Well if this is confirmed then TTD will be opening very shortly,

Chuck, who don't believe third party information period

It's already open. Or were u being sarcastic and talking about KK? Also, it should be running by the first or second week of August.
Right. Xtremecoasters is sooo...to be trusted.

I'm not saying it isn't true, but I'll believe it when I see the ride not opening. They can replace a piece of track, and just run 3 trains, and still have the thing running, as well as fixing the problem.

Edit: Now the site says "its just a rumor, it might not be true..." Thats what I thought. *** Edited 7/17/2005 10:52:27 PM UTC by TeknoScorpion***

You're always in boldface. Does that make you always right? =p

People who really know what's going on aren't posting their info on XC I’m thinking, (most of you already knows this.) I would never post news like that on my site even with a disclaimer because of how hearsay it is but to each their own.

I mean they had to post 2 disclaimers to make sure the reader knows it's just a rumor so that doesn’t add a lot of credibility in my book. I could be wrong though so I guess it’s another one of those wait and see sort of things, (like everyone’s been doing already.)

BTW first post, I’ve been lurking for years now and finally got a chance to register a screen name I will be able to remember. I know the drill so you won’t be seeing any problems from me. :)

Well at first, they said that it was confirmed information from the park. Which as soon as people read it, they found it to be nothing but a bunch of b.s. I mean when you have people that go to a park, sit down and watch people loading a cable for 2-3 hours and then see someone put some crap like that up, you'd get a little hell. I find it funny how they made it seem "absolutly, positively" confirmed info. :)

Okay, first of all, we have a news man that posts news as he sees fit. He says confirmed, I say not. He posts stuff to his belief, not the general site (he posts on multiple sites).

Teckno... if you see any news posted by either Shaun, Boris, or Dennis, then it is true, else you are right. Coasternewsman does not know what he is doing a lot of the time.

was there ever any question of if this was INtamin's fault...o yea just about every SF fanboy was quick to blame the compnay.
If it doesn't come from SF or Intamin's mouth..

*sigh*

Those who know....don't post on XC. ;)

Swoosh, it's more like "Those who post news on XC don't know". The news man is pretty quick at getting posted news articles and such but when it comes to "sources", he is horrible.

Well I can't complain too much as he posts updates on my site as "news." I guess he visits MiG about 40+ times a day as he will have it up on XC like within minutes of us launching an update - tad scary actually ;)

I question nothing of his theory of posting news. We would look for a new news editor, but hell, most updates are actually factual. I will just deal with the few needless and speculation updates he posts. Hope we are getting you at least some hits, Swoosh... ;)

Yes, you are thanks. Actually hits have been high ever since they started full force with construction at WOF. It was the same thing last year when we did our coverage on PowderKeg and the year before that with Spinning Dragons and Timberland Twister. Oh and don't forget Celebration City - man the bandwidth overages that year about killed me. :) Oh well, such is life.

Where exactly are you guys (XC) based out of? And you know I was kidding about that post above, :)
