kennywood park getting a coaster or what

Steel Phantom -- as Chris pointed out, Swing Around has nothing to do with the stage it's on top of. I actually would LOVE the see the return of the Monster to that location, much more than the Swing Around.

I know that Racer won't be removed but the signs did say 75th year anniversary all over the park which means it will stay for a while.

waiting on details?....after Jeff put in all the effort for the meeting calendar...nice way to show your appreciation!

Just messing with ya, you know I can't help myself....;)

Just seeing a crane back by Jack Rabbit doesn't mean anything. I had never been to Kennywood before until July and on my first ride on Jack Rabbit and Racer I was able to tell that was the matinence area.

I haven't heard any of the rumors that everyone mentioned above, so I'm not in the know about the park. Nonetheless, just the crane doesn't mean anything, nor does the "head owner" (what's a head owner?) shaking hands with people. I see Dick Kinzel at Cedar Point several times a season shaking hands with people, but that doesn't mean anything.

Steel Phantom- I've restrained myself until now. You are now officially getting flamed by me. People are having trouble reading your posts. The one and only post you even remotely came close to using proper punctuation you punctuated the post so that you only had run-on sentences and fragments. You have to be at least 13 years old to post on CBuzz, and most 13 year olds I know have better English skills than you.

I'm not on the Coasterbuzz staff, so this is serving as a totally unofficial "shut up, or don't be an idiot" message.

-John, who is easily irritated today, as shown here and at GTTP.

i am 14 years old for your information, i was born july 29th, 1988 do the math and I do know how to punctuate, i am just lazy

ROLLER COASTERS: MY ANTI DRUG

The coasters most certainly do not get a paint job every year... it would cost about $500,000 or up to do all 4 major outdoor coasters. No coaster has been painted at KP in its entirety (no, not even PR since only the old Arrow part was painted.)

Secondly, the Swing Around cars aren't new. They're still the old orange ones, just with blue metallic paint and a few clearcoats on them.

Ever get the feeling that steel phantom is acutally some 30-40 year old college teacher playing games and that the joke's really on all of us?

KPJB, you guys should look for an old Flyers ride to put on top of the stage instead....Imagine the snapping from 30 feet in the air!

Could have fooled me! Seriously, if you want to not be considered a troll, and have any hope of anything you post being taken seriously, you may want to rethink your stance on spelling and grammar. (Among other considerations)

SP, Kennywood isn't going to be getting a coaster with loops any time soon. Remember the coaster they just got rid of a few years ago? One reason they didn't put any inversions on PR was because of many people not riding the old phantom. Now, of course, inversions could be made alot smoother than the ones on the old phantom, but if Kennywood was interested in doing that, they probably would have done it with PR.

Also, a park spokesperson said in a press release that 50% of the public doesn't like going upside down. When this was announced, I was a bit confused considering the same year the announcement was made, the park installed a looping ride (Aero 360) which seems to be quite popular.

Exactly, Sean! It was just a way for the park to explain WHY they were eliminating the loops, but it was nothing more that a public relations move. Does anyone really think for a moment that had Morgan designed PR with a few inversions that it would be any less popular that it is now? Steel Phantom wasn't rough because of the inversions, it was rough because of Arrow's poor engineering of the transitions.

I think that the reasoning behind installing Areo360 was that they knew they would be taking out most of SP, and wanted to compensate for it.
To be honest, given THAT choice I'd take SP ;) (Although I'd rather see the PR + Aero combo, since I can skip Aero for more PR...)

Actually, yes! It's a fact that alot of the public does not like loops. If they could have had just as many, if not more, people ride it with inversions, they would have put them in. And, before you start complaining away at Arrow, (and I know the SP was very rough) any coaster with OTSR and inversions is going to have at least some headbanging, which is another reason that they didn't design the new one that way.

I realize coaster with inversions will see fewer riders, I just want to see how Kennywood will explain a coaster with inversions when/if they add one.
