kennywood park getting a coaster or what

I know many of you know that there is no point of going to kennywood if you don't live in pa only because there is only 2 great coasters there(phantoms revenge and thunderbolt) But i herd CCI was there and there is a crane behind the jackrabbit (go behind into the pavilions) so do u no any news cause kennywood is my home park and there is a feeling u get like no other when you enter it!

I agree, there is a feeling like no other when you enter the park. The feeling I get when I entered the park in July was an overwhelming urge to use punctuation.

And I think that you are totally wrong, there are 4 great coasters there. Phantom's Revenge, Thunderbold, Jack Rabbit, and the Racer are all good coasters.

A new coaster for Kennywood in 2003? Not likely. But feel free to hold your breath if you wish ;-)

why would a company that doesn't exist anymore be building a coaster on a chunk of land that isn't large enough for a coaster anyway?
There are 4 great rollercoasters there but only 2 known world wide! Supposaly kennywood was going to get an inverted then a dive machine well what is it gonna be Kennywood might even put up a nice thrill ride which would be nice now that its passed labor day i think kennywood will start building or start planning for next year!!!!

Well, we passed Memorial Day some time ago.

I doubt that Kennywood will get a new coaster next year, and the construction rumor has already been squashed by those that know.

I don't know about you folks, but I have seen all 5 of Kennywood's current coasters (and the defunct SP) featured on various coaster shows over the last few seasons. I'd say they are all well known, and they are all good. Exterminator really surprised me.

About the new CCI coaster... sounds doubtful since there is no more CCI.

But come on guys...a crane behind Jack Rabbit...what other possible answer could there be? Everyone knows cranes = new coasters!

Moosh - who totally missed the mention of CCI in the original post...LOL!

Steel Phantom, if you believe every rumor that's come down the pike on places like Screamscape and Kennywood Unlimited over the years, I have a really nice bridge I'd love to sell you.

Chris -- woohoo! We'll get "choast" back at the Wood yet!

Kennywood was great! We drove from MI to it and hope to do it again next year, even if they don't have a new coaster :)

Do you mean Gravity Group was there. Cuz CCI is gone :( Anyway I hope they do get a GG coaster. Or any coaster would be good. A woodie would fit in at that park too.

Being that Kennywood is my home park, I do believe that the crane you are referring to has been back there a few years. I think it is black and gold. I could be very wrong though. As for 2003 Screamscape seem to mention the possibility of a Huss ride, but I wouldn't put too much into anything over there. A nice new woodie would be great, but I don't see it happening for next year. For now, we'll just have to enjoy the nice collection of coasters that they have.

tservo - a USED Huss ride, if my sources are correct.

Kennywood is getting something, sure. They're keeping it in the family, so to speak.

The crane is white and it was moving when i saw it all i know is that kennywoods head owner was walking around the park and shaking hands with people and saying how did u like the park u should come back next year is that a hint!!!!!!!!!!

steel phantom, there is always equipment back by the jack rabbit. when didn't you notice this? they have a maintenance place back there and all that other stuff. there is always equipment, including large equipment back there. Geez, isn't the hint Jeff gave you enough? Can't you tell that the rumor is false since CCI doesn't even exist anymore, nor did they build inverted coasters. And lastly, where would they even put it back there? there is no where near enough land for a semi large coaster, especially an inverted coaster. Geez, if you're so worried about riding a new coaster next year, quit kidding yourself, and go to a park you haven't been to yet.

Okay, there's a Manitex 165' crane truck, and a Grove 86' manlift parked behind the Jack Rabbit. Neither of these pieces of equipment are of any use if you're building a coaster. We own them. You need cranes for maintenance, too.

Sorry to burst your bubble.

thank you sooooooooo much kpjb. Nobody seems to want to listen to me.
Yes, kpjb. I believe one of them was used for installing PR's magnetic trims.

Oh, and Lake Compounce will most likely be one ride short next season ;)
