kennywood park getting a coaster or what

How much land does Kennywood own on that side of the park? There is a ravine there that holds an old (abandoned?) factory building and a few railroad tracks. If Kennywood could buy this area, they would have enough room for a large coaster.

LC will not be one ride short next season. According to my sources they're losing two at the most and installing two, possibly three.

Could it be Top Spin, Twister, or maybe the rumored "to-be-removed" waterslides?!?! Oh the possibilities!

Kennywood won't get the waterslides cause they have had a pool in the past but somepeople said there isn't enough room for a semi large coaster but what if they put a dive machine or impulse they don't take up that much room. If kennywood wanted to build a rollercoaster I personaly would like it to have inversions. When I visted kennywood this year it was july 20th and was highmark day. As i was walking around the park I saw 2 guys walking around looking at a blue print of somesort (when they were standing in line the shoppe next to the jackrabbit/paratroopers) Could it be a flat ride a coaster or something as a memorial to the people in the whip accedent

Blueprints could mean ANYTHING.

Kennywood is very likely to get something from Lake Compounce next year. There are very few things that they could take from us anyways, and whatever it is, is likely to be replaced. Hopefully they'll give Zoomerang to Kennywood as a secondhand ;)

Lake Compounce-So Fresh and So Clean Clean

SP, Kennywood isn't going to be getting a coaster with loops any time soon. Remember the coaster they just got rid of a few years ago? One reason they didn't put any inversions on PR was because of many people not riding the old phantom. Now, of course, inversions could be made alot smoother than the ones on the old phantom, but if Kennywood was interested in doing that, they probably would have done it with PR.

So, are you all saying that my dreams of a 400' looper with a tunnel under the Mon into Braddock, a 360 helix, and a series of bunny hops back up the bluff into Kennywood will never come true? ;)

*sniff, and tear falls*

Well, at least we'll have choast! :)

I know! Kennywood is building the coaster that Andy Vettel designed to go in between Racer and Thunderbolt! ;)

It's now college football season. The only thing that makes coasters take a back seat. This also means Rollergator is the enemy again... for 4 months.

I visited the park this season in July and they have 5 great coasters but I don't see them getting anything new anytime soon but Exterminator and PR are enough to bring me back.

Not quite: Boulder Dash goes to Idlewild, Rollo Coaster goes to Kennywood, Racer goes to Compounce, and Drachen Fire, which was secretly bought in a deal with the BGT monorail will be put in the ravine.

The racer at kennywood park will never ever leave kennywood because of its history. Neither will the thunderbolt, or Jackrabbit. The steel Phantom was never supposed to leave but sadly it did. Some flat rides such as the whip, wave swinger, and swing around will never leave either because of kennywoods past. The only ride that i could see going would be the aero 360 because its new but its a crowd pleaser and won't leave!

Sweet! Finally using the ravine for something! And the coaster that I still feel slighted by as they took it down the year AFTER I officially became an enthusiast comes roaring back ;) Hey with some creativity maybe it could reach into Braddock!

Off to search the Huss site and the KennyCorp sites to try and figure out what's moving to Kennywood ... if anyone can get an internet connection installed in an apartment in less than 24 hours I would love you forever :) For now, out for another few days ...

No, you're not listening. The Racer is going to Lake Compounce. They need another coaster and Kennywood needs something new. 75 years of anything is enough.

Yup. I'm sure the bulldozers are all lined up at Lake Compounce now, ready to flatten the mountain so that Racer can fit.

The racer is a old classic coaster why would it leave i mean come on if a coaster has been there 75 years y remove it now

I would think that the people in Pittsburgh have had enough of the Racer by now. Time to mix things up. Don't be selfish! If you'll miss it that badly you can always move to Connecticut.

I started out with nothing and still have most of it left.

I really don't think they will remove a great wooden coaster that has been at kennywood since 1927. i mean if its been there this long why should you remove it now. The Racer won't leave Kennywood until its broken. I mean that was my second rollercoaster I have ever been on and its a great one(Jack Rabbit came first). Kennywood will disapoint pittsburgh twice if they remove the Racer(removing the phantom was the first time).
