Does anybody know how/if Kennywood's attendance has been affected by the expansion of Geauga Lake/SFWoA?
Also, are there going to be any additions at Kennywood for 2003? Since the demise of Kennywood Unlimited, I haven't been able to find a good source of information on my home park.
Kennywood is adding a Top Spin, formerly at Lake Compounce, on the former spot of the Boardwalk restrooms between Noah's Ark, Enterprise, and the park offices. The ride will receive theming as well.

From Screamscape... “it should be HOT - very HOT!”
And then you can find this Top Spin Firestorm-theme on Huss homesite... http://www.hussrides.com/52cTopSpinTheme.htm
That's my guess
jimster03, go to www.kpconnection.com a fansite of Kennywood Park. Yes Kennywood's attendence did fall after the Whip accident, infact it was down some percent in July. Kennywood Phantom Fright Nights did help the attendence to go up though Lot's will be in store for the 2003 Kennywood season but your have to wait on April 26th to see

Well I'm glad King Kahuna will have the water effects and a great theme, plus Enterprised being re-named Volcano, it should look really cool in its new theme.
That area will be known as Volcano Valley. It will include 3 rides - the renamed enterprise (Volcano), the top spin (King Kahuna) and Pirate. But I just got that off of the official site :)

The Firestorm themeing is not what will be on our Top Spin. The hot thing was referring to the Volcano. The Kahuna will be themed in house.
The new bathrooms aren't going where the golf course was, they'll be next to the Potato Patch where Le Cachot was.
The drop in attendance most certainly was due to the Whip. You don't lose 40% of your business because it's hot. It was plenty hot and plenty busy before the storm ravaged the park.
There's a ton of stuff going on... pretty much every ride is having stuff done to it. Whether you notice it or not is another story.

Attendence dropped that much! Wow! I know my parents wouldn't take some friends and myself until all the rides were checked out and said to be O.K., but I wouldn't think that would affect attendence that much. At times, Mother Nature can be a beeyatch.------------------

Sorry, but that kind of thing is the exact reason attendance was down. One thing happens(it wasnt a problem with the ride anyways) and everybody freaks out and thinks the whole park is unsafe.
