Is Mean Streak that bad?

Every time I see this coaster it looks awsome. The first time I saw it I figured it was probably one of the best wooden coasters. However, I've only heard negative things about this ride. It's tall, fast, and fun to look at.

I've never ridden it, but what's wrong with it?

-----------------

I didn't find it rough like some people say, I think it goes to slow to be rough. The first drop looks like it would be awesome but then there are trim brakes that really ruin it totally. I also thought it was just boring. When I went to Cedar Point, I looked forward to it even though I had heard bad things. The best thing about it is it looks. Its structure is so impressive.
The ride didn't hurt me.... but it was pointless.

No air, nothing. It's like driving in your car... Nothing happens.

I rode it in '98. Did they add trim brakes after that or something? I thought it was fast, and I loved how it was so intertwind in its own track. Then again, I'd take a twister over an airtime machine any day, but that's just me.
I loved it!!! So? No air, who cares?

I prefer the pears in the heavy syrup. They're just good.

It used to be amazing in the first 2-3 years. Tasty air in many spots, great laterals, and FUN! But, time has not been kind to the Summers/Dinn woodies, especially the big ones. I doubt any coaster that big will remain in top shape except for the new Intamin breed. (I would be interested to ride SOB in 2010!)

Load up on guns brings your friends its fun to lose to pretend...

How is the magic carpet portion of the ride at the end?

Are you thinking of Texas Giant?

The ride isn't bad, it's just boring. I'll give it 10 years, max., until that ride is demolished.

The top 3 all time cobrarolls.

1)Raptor's
2)Deja Vu's (times 3)
3)Batman Knight Flight's

It's not rough I just found it boring, I found it odd that the 2 kids ahead of me said it's the best ride in the park and better than SOB and Beast at Kings Island...
Slow, meandering. That pretty much sums up Mean Streak. While MS and Texas Giant share some similarities, such as the track that wraps around the lifthill, they are very different rides. I loved the magic carpet section on Texas Giant.

In my opinion, it's not that it's too rough or it's too boring, it just lacks that certain something that makes you want to run back and do it again. It needs some signature moment to draw you back. As it stands, the whole ride all blurs together into a mess of mediocrity. Time is better spent elsewhere.

It's pretty to look at though.

I thought it was one of the better rides at CP. It sure beat out Mantis in Re-Ride factor. I didnt think it was too rough, and i loved flyin in and out of the supports.

Women was god's second mistake.

No. Relative to the other coasters at CP, it may not be superior, but compared to the coasters at many other parks, I feel it is world class. Simply considering the views of the lake and the park, as well as the crossings through itself, make it really great.
Yes.
I thought Mean Streak was horrible. You get little speed on the first hill and then what seams like stopping on the top of the next hill. I thought it would be intense, fast, exilerating, and have a lot of air time like Twister II at EG. But it is completely opposite of that.

Whoa... I'm not the only person here who thinks airtime does not make a coaster.

--Richard, who firmly believes that 3 seconds of air will not match 90 seconds of ride time.

Is that a Q-bot in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

I have found a liking for Mean Streak, I really like it! Probably only because the only place I ride it is in the very front. Now I have ridden the very back and that was torture, so I understand where you could be coming from there, but the visuals in the front are very neat, even with the trims, I still think it's a good ride. If there is no wait, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I liked Mean Streak better than some of the woodies I've been on, but then there are others that make it look horrible. I can say this because I've been on most of the best woodies in the world- Phoenix/Twister, Legend/Raven, Beast, Cyclone... But then again I've also been on some of the worst.
