Is Cedar Point worth a 400+ mile trip?

ok, I need advice here, my mom says since I'm a "picky" coaster rider, we should go to Ohio next year. Is Cedar Point worth a 400+ mile drive?

Dorney Park is da bomb!
I'd say so. I've convinced my parents to not waste all of thier vacation time from work next summer so we can go. Roundtrip, taking the Manitowoc-Ludington ferry across Lake Michigan, it's about 850 miles. Going around the lake it's about 950 miles I think.

Everybodys got something to hide except for me and my monkey!
Absolutely. I'm takin that trip too Bro...I live in SC, and I drivin' all the way up to PKI and CP.

Yep! Every variety off coasters you need except for a Flying or Floorless coaster.

Unless you make a big vacation out of it and go to World's of Adventure.

Yes, it will be worth it. Just make sure you go for a few days.

I dont think that its worth the trip. dont get me wrong, its a great park, but I dont think it measures up to PKI (my opinion only)

YES. I'm from Minnesota each month when I work at Valleyfair I take a drive trip out to Cedar Point. I calculated the miles from the start of Highway 13 & Inerstate 35W is 2,500 miles round trip. The drive is worth it if you live 3,000 miles from OHIO.
DEFINTELY. Don't forget to stop at my home park, SFWoA! :)

You bet it is. My wife and I made our first trip to CP in May, and are returning Columbus Day weekend for the Halloweekends festivities. We are SFGAm veterans who flipped head over heels for CP. This park has 14 coasters (12 steel), including Millennium Force, Magnum XL 200 and Raptor, all three of which are "top tens" in almost anyone's book (definitely mine). This place is coaster nirvana. Plus, there's lots of other things to do for those non coaster riders for every taste - flat rides, carousels, shows, the beaches, Soak City, Mini Golf, go-carts, Parasailing.......

I highly recommend staying on Point at one of the resort hotels or cabins. Yeah, its pricey, but this really makes the experience at the Point that much better. It's nice to be so close to the park, and it's nice to have a midday break relaxing in the room for a while. After staying at Breakers our last visit, I'll always stay on Point if at all possible. Nothing beats looking out your window after a long day at the park to see that awesome light show bathing the Millennium Force lift hill:)

YES, it's worth an even longer trip than that.
If you love coasters, you have to visit CP.

If it was worth me going about 600 miles to Six Flags New England from Cincinnati, Ohio, it sure as heck would be worth that for CP or PKI. I would recommend stopping by Kennywood and SFWoA as well.
I agree, its worth the trip, but there is much more to CP than just coasters. What makes cedar point great is inderscribable. some people get it and some don't.

PKI MAN said PKI is better what the hell is he thinking? CP is the best in the world ahnds down and if you are wondering if a 400 mile drive is worth it the answer is plane and sample YES!You need to get to CP any way possible.

-------------
Cedar Point, doesn't get any better then that:)
He's thinking that IHO PKI is better than CP. You have a problem with it? And IMHO, I think PKI is better as well, because I don't like spin and pukes, I love woodies more than steel, I like free waterparks, they have cheaper season passes, theming, and best of all, Flight of Fear. But that's obviously not the discussion.

Nothing's worth driving 400 miles for. Take a freakin' plane.

Cedar Point is worth a 4000 mile trip. It is one of the few places that needs to be visited by everone on Earth.
I have once told people that Millennium Force alone is worth a trip from afar. Cedar Point is worth a trip beyond afar.

I drove 400 miles to Cedar Point but also hit Kennywood and SFWOA along the way last year. If you've never seen CP you should definitely make the trip just so you can say you've done it, and that you've ridden the only coaster 300ft. or taller in North America.
