Iron Dragon's "new" paint job

Here's a picture showing off Dragon's new look: http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/kbrown54/detail?.dir=/5d5f&.dnm=d21b.jpg

I just got one word to say: UGLY

I don't get it.

I think I heard CP repainted it to be closer to TTD's colors, due to it's proximity to TTD.

If that's true, I would think it should complement or even contrast TTD, not nearly match it.

Why would they paint it as such?

I don't get it either. If the coaster was on the other side of the point, I may be able to understand. I do have faith in them, though.

I wonder if that's hinting at KBF's Silver Bullet color scheme. Granted I haven't seen nor have I been to the park (KBF)in a long while.

I sort of liked the color contrast that Cedar Point used to have in that area of the park, now it seems that the rides in that area are primary colors and white. (Corkscrew, Power Tower, Dragster, Mantis, and now Iron Dragon) Ah well, its not going to make me more excited about riding it ;).

b!tch, b!tch, b!tch... that's all I hear thus far!

I got no objections with it. Despite it now looking like an extension of TTD... just hanging below the rails now, it's definately an improvement from last year.

Although if they were going to do a full-on paint-job, they should have gone with an entirely new color scheme. The colors could have tricked some peeps into increased ridership.
Hey, I would have liked to try it out if the coaster was sayyyyyy... blue, instead of red... or silver.

Hmmm...that is Spinning Dragon's color scheme too. I guess CF:LP is in a rut when it comes to picking color schemes (Dorney guess what color your floorless is going to be ;) )
From what I know, Silver Bullet will NOT have that color scheme.

And I can't see the picture because I get an error msg. :( Sad times for me.

OMG I have a new sig!!!

All I see is a 'Page cannot be displayed' error. But I'm going to assume that it's red and yellow.
I can't see the picture either but if the new paint really does match Dragster, then maybe they are hoping to trick people into thinking that Dragster actually does something else besides go up and down.
Maybe they had a lot of paint left over after dragster .;-) *** Edited 3/24/2004 12:51:19 AM UTC by Intamin***

Dragster was painted in Europe.

Who knows Jeff, maybe the surplus paint was shipped over along with the Dragster parts. ;)

My opinion on the new paint job is split. It's nice to see ID getting a face lift, but can't understand why painting a coaster the same color scheme as your newest addition since it's adjacent to it. Mantis is also a next door neighbor. Why not paint ID purple, yellow, and candy apple red?

Let's paint Blue Streak green because of Raptor. Then I guess you would have to rename it. :)

maybe the whole point of the new paint job is to make TTD's look like a longer ride. I can hear it standing in line now, "OMG! It goes over to the island too!"
blue streak was named after a high school team jkpark

Yes, I know it was named after a high school team. That renaming statement was part of my point.
