This may sound stupid but have you ever felt so close to a coaster that it feels like your in love with it?? I have a love for Magnum. It's like every other coaster is just a ride, but when i ride Magnum it's like an experience, like i've reached coaster nirvana. Has anyone ever felt this way about a coaster, (i hope so)?

I've been accused of loving Millennium Force... They told me to remove a bolt from the coaster and...
Well, it's a family site ;)

1. S:RoS @ SFNE 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Cyclone
St Chick, I kinda figured that you would be in love with Timbers, judging from what i saw at TimbersFest. I remember them announcing it was your 600th ride. I was like wow!! i have only rode it like 40 times. It is an outstanding ride.

Its not THE Shivering Timbers, its just Shivering Timbers. And its pronounced Michigan's Adventure.

Coaster Counter: 80+...I need to sit down and figure it out :)
Gold Rusher for steel at Six Flags Magic Mountain (it's highly underated and the "toilet bowl" finale rocks)
and GhostRider for wood because of all the air-time you get riding that beast

I also have a love for the Yankee Cannonball. It was built in the 1930's and it still is really good. Lots of airtime on almost every hill. It beat out my expectations completely! I like this little woodie more than Boulder Dash!

S:RoS ( SFNE ) is #1!

Mantis - I know everyone hates it but Mantis is the only coaster I can ride time and again and not get bored - even after like my 4th ride of the day, I get a little bored with MF, but I have never gotten bored with Mantis. Maybe cause I feel its a little different each time - theres a little more or a little less hangtime in the first loop - the last part whips a little more ... or I'm just crazy, but I love Mantis - the roar of the tracks, even the air release of that stupid trim on the hill .... ahhhhh.
The old Steel Phantom used to be this way too - even before I was gutsy enough to ride it (I never rode until I was about 14) I'd sit there and just watch it go all day long. The clicking of that Arrow lift hill, the machine-gun sound of the rollback-preveter-thing before the first loop, the screams of people coming off the first hill ... memories.

Um - NO.
I enjoy riding coasters, but I would give them up for my wife, any member of my family, my friends, my faith, and any number of other things that I actually love.
Anyone who "loves" a coaster doesn't know what love is.

Does any of the "usual" posters on this board know that theres such a thing as sarcasm, humor and statements that aren't black and white?
Lighten UP a little!! Yes, given the choice between saving a friend from a burning building, giving blood to save a family member or riding Mantis, I'll ride Mantis ... (and if you fail to see the sarcasm there either, you need help)

I would have to also say the Beast since I have been riding it for so long. It feels like we are old friendes or something. Especially at night!!! Sorry you feel that way Den, but I do "love" coasters, I am a coaster enthusiast! I LOVE my family and my family loves coasters too.

Hey Mark W. - pretty easy to tell who's a teen-ager and who's not from this thread, isn't it?
I'll repeat myself - anyone who "loves" coasters has never experienced love.
Pittdesigner - *you* may be being sarcastic, but most of the posters in this thread are sincere, I'm pretty sure.
