Hypersonic XLC questions?

Please someone respond. I know it hasn't been long but I need help now because by tomorrow I have to make the plans. So please someone help with what time the coaster opens and if it opens usually and what to do before it opens.

I don't think anyone can really tell you exactly what time it will open because it seems to depend each day... it could open at 10:30 when it is suppose too, later in the day, or not at all. This is really a risk for any park you go to because you never know when a ride might be down. If Hypersonic is not open at 10:30 go to Volcano. If that isnt open yet go to Flight of Fear, Anaconda, Grizzly, etc... There are plenty of other rides to do and I am sure Volcano will be open when you go and hopefully Hypersonic. If I were you I would go ahead anyways but that is just my opinion. Hope that helps:)
One last thing. Could someone give me a link to some good pictures of the trains and the vertical hill please. That helps GhettoCoaster I'm going to go for it.

Did you get to ride Hypersonic XLC that day? It sounds like a good idea to hit Volcano if it says XLC is closed then walk over to Hypersonic after Volcano?

Yes, I got to ride Hypersonic. If hypersonic is closed, go to Volcano, then if it's open got to it. I went to Volcano, then FOF and Anaconda. I walked over to Hypersonic and it was still testing, so I went on Ricochet. After I got off Hypersonic was open. I got on with about a 20 minute wait.

Sean, you're worrying about too much.

It IS likely you'll get to ride.

The park is not making promises about H:XLC because people should know they're waiting at their own risk during problem times. If it goes down & you wait, don't expect anything, asides a cup of water, for your time/so-called troubles.

One person went as far as to say that they would continue to operate with the ride advertised as closed from the lot, with limited guests queeing up, for as long as they could hold off on actually opening the ride up real obviously, just in case.

There are problems, still, so what! I don't think they're lasting. Tuesday it went off without a glitch after a horrible Monday. Monday wasn't as bad as last year, they seemed to be having problems with individual seats or rows. They opened a couple of times, but the #1 had no front or back row open. Next year, new trains? What will people think then;).......

Besides, you're worrying about actual times, so to speak. That's too much thinking, just go!
Not to argue anything, though, rides open at 11 unless you're in for ERT. I know this not only because it's advertised outside thier gates, but because my wife watches her watch & says what time it is all the time for no reason.

BTW, Tuesday it looked like they're prepping the area under the bunny hill for something. It may have been cleaning/painting, but there was a covered light-machine rig thing & the ground inside the fence was covered in tarp. There's no telling with that thing, though.

Thanks p_c_r im going.

Wait, hypersonicxlc's time giving was correct, it was 10:30 when they opened Volcano. Can't figure out why I thought it was 11?! Oh, well.

BTW, Monday & Tuesday were INSANE hot. Monday must've wrecked me, 'cause by Tuesday I was in slow-mo. Hope the heat index doesn't topple 100, LOL, it's miserable up there, & I live at a beach I couldn't believe the VA heat;).......

Not sure if this helps, but yesterday was my first time to PKD and, we got there around noon to see two signs, side by side at the park entrance:

"Hypersonic will not be operating today"

"Hypersonic will begin operating at 1pm today"

Both would ultimately prove to be false, since, the coaster was in fact running when we got there are noon, and was down for a couple hours shortly after that. Yep, it was down at 1pm, re-opened at 3pm. We got on at 5pm.

Never having ridden it before I have no real comment on how it compares to last year's incarnation. The best 4-5 seconds of coastering experience. The world's worst photo station (both trains that we were on never had anything remotely close to our complete faces -- and this was the only photo out of the 30 or so we have taken over the past two weeks that we were ready to buy -- well, that and Legend). Heck, just take the picture pre-launch, folks are plenty scared there anyway. Get a clear picture anyway.

So, in short, it's as erratic as ever it seems, and park signs lie.

Rick

Thank Paris, it seems like they are telling you it is closed but it is open. They probably don't want to get you mad if it closes. When I call PKD they say it is down for maintenence but I want someone who's ridden it to say Then how did I ride it today? Your Lying aren't you;)

When we arrived on Friday at 7:00pm, there were several signs that said that Hypersonic was closed. Since we arrived right as a massive thunderstorm was underway, we had no idea what rides were actually running beforehand. All I can tell you is that H:XLC was running later that evening with a full queue, even though there were signs in front saying that the ride was closed. I'm assuming there must of have been some kind of pass that the people in line got.

SFGadvMan, I would highly recommend calling the park the day you go, instead of trying to get information from people on line.

If coasters are your life, than maybe you need to re-examine your life.

OK I will try that Intamin Fan. I just want to know if you can just go in line or are they giving passes to ride or whatever.

its right as you past the sky flyer, you just go to your right when you pass it, right to the side of the ride its self, you cant miss it cause you have to walk under the ride to get to it.
Funny, Diamond Falls was closed both days last week that we were there. No sign at the gate saying "Not in operation today" or any of that.

Yet they put up a "Hypersonic will not be in operation today" while it's running.

Yea its a shame Diamond falls was cloased last week when I was there becuase it was over 100degs with a 100 humidity, and bairly no way to cool off,but it dident matter becuase my father was saying it was so hot that if you got wet,ur cloths would steam onto your skin!,but anyhow, I was there tuesday of last week, and The announcement at the main gate was saying dont rotget to do this have this etc,and "Hypersonic XLC will be closed today", but for some reason I had to think other, and I was right it was open prop about 1hr after the park opened, I dident get to ride it till just before I left around 5pm,but when I rode there was a sign saying "this ride is closed" yet it was open ,and they had ride attdents letting in guest by the handfull into the queue, and so I was lucky enough to get in with that group and I dident even have to wait more then 10mins and that included waiting for my seat, yet my father ,and mother had to wait over 1hr in the beiging of the day.A thing I found strange was 95% of all the ride atdents running the ride, and checking it where park managers etc, or hgiher ranked people then the regular teenage or young ride operators, and then after every train that came in they where writing down notes, so I guese they are just testing it with people, but there is no garentied ride.
Thanks. It's funny how they keep the sign up when it's open. I called and they said it was open.

Guess what? If you go, it's there, chances are you are going to ride it. Don't stress so much! Save all the stressing for when you feel that jerk right before that baby lets loose!
The more you worry about unimportant things like where exactly the entrance to the ride is & stuff you will find less enjoyment, LOL. Don't worry about it, once you're in PKD, Hypersonic is back there, next to those other three or four rides, that's all you need to know;).
