Just wanted to let you all know that the first drop has been built! i was driving by with my mom today and thought i saw it from hamilton blvd., so i asked her to drive down around back, and sure enough, the drop is complete! and it's surprisingly steep! obviously it doesn't look that tall, but i was impressed with the angle.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know. Drive by it!

9/27/04 - The drop is done! The drop was finished along with the pullout and a little more. Some new supports are also put up, Yet one of the drop supports is still unfinished.
That is one steep drop on that one legged horse...
I think it's a much cooler design visually for a Cobra Roll.

Visually so far anyways, hope they ride differently as well.
You know, that's a valid question.
I imagine the Cobra Roll would be very smooth when compared to the 'traditional' design we're used to.
On the older style the transition from the half loop to the corkscrew-style piece was pretty sharp - kind of like a 90 degree change of direction. Not that it is rough at all, but the change of direction is pretty major.
The titled half loop section seems to me to lend itself more to creating less of that abrupt change of direction. It becomes a much smoother, almost continuous rolling motion.
I bet we hear rave reviews over how silky smooth that Cobra Roll design is and more than likely never see the "old" style done again.
Plus, it's even more visually striking than the old-style :)

I think the style of the cobra roll on Hydra actually looks more like the shape of the head of a cobra than a more traditional design like Medusa...from an artistic standpoint, that is.
As for a ride standpoint, it should be very interesting to feel and very fun too!
Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger
Worth checking out.
