Bottom line is, the blueprints that were posted aren't accurate anymore. Simple as that. The queue entrance will be under the first flatspin - under the highest part of it, not where it's on the ground (obviously, we're not *that* short! :)).
See ya SOON....:)
You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)
The drawing everyone saw is dated. (the version on Eastcoaster may have been too small to read the details) It's dated as recently as last Sept/Oct.
Are the months between that drawing and pieces arriving at Dorney are enough time to make revisions to the design that are that drastic?
That's not rhetorical, I'm genuinely curious. It seems that everyone and their brother spouts about how long in advance coasters are decided on, planned and so forth. How long does it actually take to manufacture the pieces? Here were have a period of well under a year and we're talking pretty major changes to the design.
Educate me! :)
On a side note, I found it interesting that Dorney is required by zoning ordinance to plant a certain number of trees (of specific size and type) every time they add an attraction.
At any rate, I sincerly hope you're right, Legendary. The changes you describe would take what already looked to be a great, unique and solid layout/design and improve on it even further.
Gonch, I honestly don't know if that's "enough" time to change it, but I don't think the changes were all that drastic. Changing some supports for the inline or what have you wouldn't take too much engineering I'm *assuming*. The blueprints were dated Oct 8, 2003. I think it would be very simple to change some things last second and still have the fabricated track out there by June (isn't that when it started arriving at Dorney?).
That's my best guess at it, lord knows I'm no engineer. :) But yeah, I hope I'm right, too, Gonch, because if I'm not, well we have some serious problems. ;)
YOU are *that* short, Joe....but you're cute!
Agree Gator! ;o)

blueprints?! whatcha talkin bout woodfanwillis!?
Well, heres a NoLimits recreation of the proposed layout. A tad bit rough, but it gives the right idea.

2 things.
1.) The queue line will be where it is placed on the plans posted. The corkscrew will be elevated.
2.) Anyone notice that Dorney found out people knew the Hydra page location, and have taken down the page (until the 9th)?
