How many times do you ride a coaster?

I usually ride as many times as possible at most theme parks. At ACE's Rip Roarin' Rampage last October at Visionland I rode the Rampage 85 times in 12 hours! (No Kidding!) That is the only coaster that the park has and it's a pretty unheard of park so sitting in the front seat all day long was no problem. The next day, I felt like I had gotten run over by a semi. I stayed sore for about a week.:(

What is life without ups and downs!?!?
I rode Son of Beast nine times, eight of those in within two hours. It was the second pawprint pass holder "ert" session. It was weird riding the ride with all the smoke from the fireworks drifting through the structure (SoB stayed open an hour after the park closed for pass holders). BTW, I rode Son of Beast 2 times the day before and 2 times the day after, as well as riding The Beast about 8 times. *** This post was edited by coastersrz on 1/17/2001. ***
I remember riding Raging Bull about 8 times one day. I think Legendary was jealous that day.

BMCOASTER

I usually ride each coaster once before repeating, but if the coaster was really great and it is a walkon, I'll usually ride it a few more times. The most I have rode a coaster consecutively was five times on Great White in NJ and three on the Corkscrew at CP and Apollo's Chariot at BGW.

What? Me jealous? Why, because I was actually working when you were supposed to be, but you were just riding? Nah, I wasn't jealous...(grrrrrr) ;)

Anyway, more coasters that I've ridden at least ten times in a day are:

Top Gun The Jet Coaster (18 times)
Apollo's Chariot (20 times)
Batman and Robin: The Chiller (20 times)
Rampage (28 times)
GhostRider (10 times)
Twisted Sisters (combined over 21 times)
Great Bear (11 times)
Steel Force (20 times)
Mamba (15 times)
Wild Thing (23 times)
Kumba (31 times)
Viper SFGAm (18 times [employee ride night])

I think that's about all of 'em. Basically, if it's a CCI, B&M, Intamin, hyper, and not at CP, I will ride over and over and over 'til they drag me off of it. :) Good to see there are a lot of you out there that are like myself! I'm not the only lunatic in the bunch.

Most in one day at SFGAm.
11 on Demon (6 in a row, not leaving staion)
6 on American Eagle
2 on Viper
1 on Whizzer

This past season I rode these coasters at CP in this order all in about 9 hrs. Blue Streak, Raptor, Demon Drop(non-coaster), Iron Dragon, Wildcat, MF, Mean Streak, Gemini 1st, Magnum, Corkscrew, & finally Mantis.

This was the most coasters in one day. I could have gotten DT, and CCMR in too, but we had to go check in at the front of the park twice. Not bad if you ask me.

P.S. how do you do the filler seat re-ride. Just stand on the exit side of the platform and see if they need to fill a seat?

Cedar Fair parks, first of all, do not allow rerides at all. You *may* get lucky and find a ride op who will let you stay on once, but the policy is no rerides. SixFlags parks, on the other hand, usually have the policy "If there aren't enough people waiting in line to fill the train, you may ride again if no one is waiting for your row." What happens is you either:

a. stay on since no one is in your row

or

b. switch to a different row/seat that is not occupied.

You cannot come through the exit though. Once you are through the turnstyles or whatever is at the exit, that's it, you need to go around to ride again. This is just the typical procedure, I realize there are parks that do things somewhat differently. Even then, some parks who never allow rerides do for ERT or special events (ie, CP with Millennium Mania).

17 on Serial Thriller @ SFO
20 on Villain @ SFO
15 on Gemini @ CP
10 on Leap The Dips @ Lakemont

I love power riding.

(Thrillerman at SFO has ridden Serial Thriller over 100 times in a day)
Ok, The most Coasters I've ridden in a day is: Raging Bull 7 times, Viper 10 times, American Eagle 10 times, batman 7 times, iron wolf 5 times, and shockwave 3 times.
Justin WOW! i cant even stand one ride on top gun at PCW!!! OW! Well, it depends on what park i am in. At darien lake, all the coasters get one shot, except for Mind Eraser which i will ride as often as possible. Also, if there is no line i will ride forever and ever and... well i rode Dragon Fyre at PCW 13 times in one day and I rode Viper at SFDL about 26 times in one day. That was before Viper started making me see spots. I also rode Dragon Mountain at Marineland 30 times in one day. There is never any line for that ride but the ride ops made me go all the way back to the queue to start over again...
My one & only visit to BGT on Monday 18 Jan '00, a very quiet day! :-)
34 on Kumba.
10 on Montu.
Once on each of the remaining coasters.
= 311 inversions in one day!!

11 on Lethal Weapon (SLC) @ Movieworld Aussie.

I can't handle riding the Demon at Wonderland Sydney (Vekoma Boomerang) more than three times in a row. I HATE going backwards but can't resist going forwards anyway!! Going into the V.Loop backwards is a real head-killer.

Triple M, a radio station has an annual competition where several lucky listeners get to battle out on the Bush Beast 90ft woodie & the last person riding wins $20,000. They have to ride all day with bathroom breaks only. It once ran for THREE MONTHS!!! That's like over 10,000 rides. I think they might be exaggerating for sure. ;-) You'll never catch me riding the BB as it hurts like hell.

BTW, what is Thrillerman's latest count??

If he did ST 100 times in a day, that is 500 inversions. Oh my head hurts at the thought of that!

To go with this topic, what is the most inversions you've done on coasters in a day?

I've found the exact opposite to be true. I rode Magnum 6 times in a row two different times this year. On the other hand, SFO kicked me of a train with only two other riders on it on S:UE.
The most that I have done in one day is 52 on magnum. I know it doesn't sound like a lot but consider this, the ride was open from 10pm to 8pm so that is only 10 hrs, the problem was that the ride was only running two trains. The station was full and the line never touched the stairs. I only took a half hour rest that was it.

The day jeff and I did 42 was a special day. I remember that the morning hours were really nice but weather in Sandusky can change in the blink of an eye. That night Magnum went down to one train operation and you could count the supports while you were going over the second hill the trains were moving that slow.

Incredibly weird! Cedar Point is most notorious for not allowing rerides *under any circumstances* during a normal operating day (excluding ERT, Millennium Mania, etc). The fact that you not only got a reride, but SIX is quite a feat.

On the other hand, SFO is the strangest SF park I've been to regarding rerides. I went to SFO eight times this year and only ONE DAY did they say I couldn't stay on the train. Mind you, the entire first half of said day, I was reriding and reriding over and over and over. Then, out of the blue, a ride op said, "Oh, you have to exit, you can't ride again." I said, "You mean like the last twenty times I've sat on the train?" He said something about the managers watching and they could get into trouble. It then followed me from SUE to Villain and to BKF. And this day, it was DEAD, I mean, they had to close off six out of eight rows on BKF to not have to continuously close the empty harnesses. I couldn't figure it out, but I guess "dem are da rules!"

Thank God SFGAm has a sensible reride policy -- If there aren't enough people in line to fill up the train, you can ride again!

Beat this, summer of 1984, met some ACE coaster club members on a foggy night at SFGAm(at the time was owned by Marriott). Rode the Tidal Wave with 3 ACE members 65 times in a row without getting off. That is insane.
