How I Almost Fell Out of 2 Roller Coasters- Indiana Beach 7-5-04

Associated parks:
None

Well, the hickey comes close, although that was more of a lateral slam than an extreme airtime moment! Still, I get where you're coming from ;)
Mmmmm... the hickey.
I suspect many of you forget what it's like to be 14. Everything is dramatic at 14---that's just the way it is when you haven't experienced the soul-crushing and soul-soaring events that some middle-aged old fogey like me has. And, despite the hysterics, this was an okay trip report, more interesting than many, and an improvement over hearing about his argument with his uncle.

So I say: keep 'em coming.

Ok, so I got a tad dramatic, and yes Jeff, you better believe I was holding on for dear life.

Hoosier had ejector air when i was on it, I was out of my seat almost standing for half the hills.

I am 14, I don't ride coasters without seatbelts everyday, I don't even ride in a car without a seatbelt, so when a coasters restraint comes undone, and your not an expert on primary/secondary safety restraints you will probably be scared.

The reason I didn't complain was because, as it has been proved on this forum sometimes, not many people believe 14 year old kids. If I went to guest relations I would get my complaint shrugged off. No one from Indiana Beach is going to believe that one of their "world class" rides seatbelt came undone, and a 14 year old is complaining about it. Face it people, they would think I am making it up, just as some of you probably think I am making this up.

The people at Indiana Beach would have just thought I was out to get a free soda or something.

The reason I write these trip reports, is to enlighten people into some things that are going on in my life. I am not trying to be a drama queen, I am just trying to give you something a little different then a boring report just rating rides and attractions. With my trip reports I am trying to write something worth reading.

It seems as most of us believe that it happened, we just think you're a little overly freaked out about it. :)

I'll second that. I've had a seatbelt come undone but it didn't freak me out. Most of us just think you overreacted a bit -- or at least wrote your trip report to make it seem that way.

No one is asking you to stop writing trip reports...please keep them coming!

First of all, I/we are not trying to pick a fight. So, as Moosh said, keep the TR's coming.

Second, I find it ironic that you, a fourteen year old, is trying to enlighten a group , mostly consisting of men from 20-50 (i'm only guessing), that have most likely ridden more roller coasters than you.

Third, would you have written a TR if you didn't have the near death expiriences? If so, what would you have written about?

Neuski - You missed his point. He's not trying to enlighten us about coasters, rather what's going on in his life.
Something about this post screams all out lies. First off HH only has about 3 airtime moments and your not going to get any on the first drop. HH is not a short coaster either.

God, give someone a little inch airtime and their life is threatened. As long as your not standing or hopping your in no danger even if the restraints wern't there. *** Edited 7/6/2004 9:38:30 PM UTC by Charles Nungester***

How does the lift hill not provide you time to unbuckle your seat belt, untangle it, and rebuckle it?!?!? (I'm not endorsing unbuckling your belt during a ride at any time; but if you were so scared, I would think that you would have tried that).

No, Chuck...his post screams "I'm 14!" FYI, everyone I know who's ridden HH this season say it's running extremely well.
Mamoosh - I did and I didn't. Yes, he is trying to enlighten us about events in his life, but that particular event envolves roller coasters, something that the majority of CB members know more about than him (based on age).

(We're talking like Kyle isn't here... freaky!)

Sorry Neuski...it's not how I read it.

"The reason I write these trip reports, is to enlighten people into some things that are going on in my life."

I guess we can just leave it open to interpretation.

Um, responding to Kyle's remark about being fourteen and guest services not believing him if he had complained. I myself am fourteen, I had a terrible experience at SFNO so I complained at guest services, and a week later I got a letter back of apology and two meal vouchers. So, they would have listened to you had you complained.

Oh by the way, I think you may have over reacted about the slack in the seat belt. But that has already been expressed multiple times.

For future reference, I would complain to guest services in any incident you feel needs adressing, if for no other reason to make yourself feel better. I know I was pretty flustered and felt much better after filing my complaint.

Two meal vouchers eh? Hmmm...I oughta complain more often... ;)

Kyle, do you like pancakes?
everybody likes pancakes. The incident sounds kind of scary. The scariest thing that ever happened to me was on Talon in Dorney. We were going up the lift hill, and the otsr slid up a notch *i guess i hadn't had it completely clicked into place* As soon as i felt it I think my heart skipped a beat. I thought it would go up all the way and I would fly and they would be mopping me off of the floor. It clicked back into place mid-way during the first loop though. But that few seconds during the drop were hell x.x
Man I love pancakes. Especially at Cedar Point. Aunt Jamima's (or however you spell that) syrup is good too.

HH is running the best ever I guess, because there are at least 5 moments of airtime. Plus, were you at IB riding HH yesterday? If not, then don't tell me I didn't get airtime on it.

I'm not trying to enlighten you about rollercoasters or anything. You guys are the experts not me. Through my TR's I am trying to tell you what happens on our family trips.

I am not going to unbuckle my seatbelt on a lift hill right before a drop, because those lift hills go fast, and another thing, They could estop the ride and kick me out of the park. I've heard about that happening before. *** Edited 7/7/2004 12:50:04 AM UTC by Kyle Fobe***

Kyle, as long as you go to guest services and are not acting like and idiot, I think they will listen to what you have to say.

HH is deffinately running its best. I was actually getting a little air on most of the hills. No where near the ejector air of CE but still better than usual.

CE on the other hand was running a little slow yesterday. But still fun.

Kyle, I think to get the flyers, you just have to see them being ridden correctly. :)

I am trying to remember where HH has anything remotely resembling ejector air? Nope, can't think of any.

Jeff: Viper at SFGAm does have seatbelts now as does American Eagle.

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.
