How Does One Find Locals to Ride With?

Plus, it helps to meet friends of friends that you talk to online, because then they can give the thumbs up or down.

I don't meet up with strangers, thus i don't go "seeking out" people to hang out with unless I already know them and they are my friends, hung out with them in person, etc.

When I do "meet up" with someone the first time they are usually long-time posters (on Cbuzz or another "private" forum I have been involved in) that I have IM'd for a good amount of time, or they are with a friend who I already have spent time with and know.

But it's fun to put screen names with faces though, and an event like Solace or Buzz or ACE event is perfect for that.

One thing I've done for the most part is meet people in groups. I didn't meet Andy in a group, but we met at Carowinds. And, after looking at Andy's pic, how harmful could he be? ;)

Then there was Danny. Ditto. ;)

When I said "strangers", I didn't mean it quite that literally, but more like what Tina said....people you've seem posting for a long time and may have talked a bit off the board, but have never met face to face yet. If you haven't yet, you can correspond a little once you decide the two of you want to meet up, as to try and avoid any "surprises" that may come up later. For example, you may want to warn the other person that you like to play Coaster 20 Questions to help pass the time on the road, as that may be considered too geeky for some. ;)

Yeah, but Mikey gets the other heated, front seat. I prefer the back seat most of the time anyway, or in this case 1.2. ;)

No. I'm not a player. I just crush a lot. On long trips, I have XM Radio (which is esp. good when you are by yourself), but if I'm with someone else, we just generally make fun of everything we pass.

You'd have to understand the sick and twisted sense of humor my close friends and I share. There are never any boring moments on trips with me :).

I agree with meeting up in groups or with another person. That way you can meet your friends' friends without doing all the "screening" yourself. :-) If they creep you out later on you have nobody to blame but your friend. As far as our little event coming up in December we are all strange and creepy in our own little, adorable ways so it doesn't matter! :-D

20 questions huh? Usually my friends and I will pass the time making fun of signs and billboards, especially the redneck signs and adult book stores. lol.

Coaster 20 Questions is something Moosh "warned" me about for the CAC trip. It was a great way to pass the time.

I've noticed Clint has a thing for Ms. Jackson. :)
