How About an "Anything" Forum?

I'm sure it's been suggested before but I might as well bring it up again. This site should have an "anything" forum where you can talk about off topic stuff. I, and many others I'm betting, find those forums to be alot of fun. You can ask odd questions, talk about music, or ask "Whats your Favorite _______" without it getting deleted in normal forums.

You might want to do a search on this. It's been covered ad nauseam and it won't happen.

As for favorite topics, they are pretty uninteresting and usually turn into peeing contests. I'm content with not seeing them at all here.

I mean this site has a DDR Forum. Why not an Anything forum then?

Hate to break it to you, but the chances of Jeff creating an "Anything" forum are about as high as the chances of you being struck by lightning 4,299,038,934 times in a row. ;)

Actually I doubted it too. I thought i'd post it here just to voice my opinion though.

I still don't understand why though. It works for many other sites so why not here? IMO I would have thought that it's more likely to be hit with lightning 4,000,000+ times than have a whole forum about DDR on this site but...well there it is!

An "Anything Forum" seems alot more relevent than a DDR forum.

Maybe a better term for that would be "Off-Topic".

It'd definately be a nice forum to have, because during the on-season or off-season... a lot of threads get hi-jacked and get way off topic.

Sometimes it's just fun to talk about other stuff with other forum members more than just coasters. Sure, there is IM, but that's completely different.

I'd be in agreeance... but the problem with that (at least in Jeff's POV) probably brings in a LOT of trash topics & stuff that may get out of hand which moderators just don't feel like sifting thru to edit, delete, or modify.

But it would be nice to have some sort of "Off-Topic" forum, to talk about music, television, movies, life, arts, sports, politics, and math homework.

Off-Topic, yes that is a much better term.

Second, there is a DDR subculture in the ranks of roller coaster enthusiasts, and as such it's an appropriate topic.

Then why isn't there a Skee-ball forum, or a Ring Toss forum, or a House of the Dead Forum? Actually a "Games at Amusement Parks" forum would be nice instead of just limiting it to one topic.

Thank you! finally a real answer. I'm willing to drop the topic now...unless someone makes a snide remark at me then I won't of course. Or at least until this topic is closed, which is looking very possible.

If you want to discuss Skee Ball, I am pretty sure you could start a thread in the General Buzz forum, as it does pertain to amusement parks. General Buzz is more than just coasters.

I think that Jeff means that there is no need to discuss movies, the World Series and the state of political affairs in Russia on this site.

I would love to have an "anything" forum as well, but like Jeff said, it's his site, and since I'm not even paying the $20 a year like some people are, I'm not going to complain about it. I was ecstatic enough when he opened the DDR forum.

To be honest I don't personally know many coaster fans that like DDR...or techno for that matter. Almost all that I know like metal, which is very good!

An off topic forum is good for getting to know people and their other hobbys and stuff.
