How about a Dollywood event?

I would love to have an event at Dollywood! I have never been and would do my best to make it.

Man, I'd really like to do this.

Although if I go, Lord Gonchar won't.

I make no guarantees.

In the spring, I have to work around kids' school and activities scheduling. In the fall, I have to work around kids' school and activities scheduling.

CB events tend to land in May, September and October. It's a crapshoot.

Just cancel the kids and go. :p

I'm with ya there. My son's in school now, as well as ice hockey, football and baseball. Also, spring and fall are my busiest times at work.

And this is why I've never been to an event.

The fact is, no time is good for everyone, so I stopped trying to find a good time for everyone because it doesn't exist. We eventually have to commit to something, and some people won't be able to make it.

May is nice there- I hope the new coaster is open in time if it is then.

Don't forget the summer---when there are camps and activities.

I suggest avoiding weekdays because I work, and weekends because I play for shows. Somewhere around Friday the Umpteenth should be OK though.

The new coaster is supposed to open sometime in May, and I don't think Jeff would schedule an event before the new ride is scheduled to open.

I'm going anyways in April, so maybe I'll have to go twice next Spring.

May? Their website says March - I was giving them construction delay time - but where does May come into play?

I may actually get my first Dollywood Season pass. I've got 3 potential trips planned within the next year. (2 were planned prior to knowing about the coaster) :)

May would be a good post-tax season reward for me.

I'll only buy a Dolly Pass if she comes out of her fortress and signs the back of it personally. That ain't going to happen....

You are correct, Jerry. My mistake. I meant March. Duu... :)

Which is still great! I bet the park has the new coaster open on opening day!

Can we turn our beds into bunk beds? It will give us so much extra space in our rooms for activites.

Somebody call Dolly. Whenever she can make it is when the event should be.

LostKause's avatar

I am with Pagoda there. I want to meet Dolly!

Jerry's avatar

I've researched it - she doesn't show up there often, usually for a ride christening, or an anniversary event. Although, I'd be keen on meeting her!

From the Dollywood Faq -

When does Dolly Parton perform?

We only have information concerning Dolly's schedule as it relates to Dollywood. Dolly makes various appearances at Dollywood during the park’s operating season. Details regarding Dolly’s park appearances are not available at this time.

Last edited by Jerry,

I like the food voucher idea if subpar catering is confirmed. The vouchers could result in a more flexible day if the catered meal would be lunch.

Regardless of the food, I'll be there.

I've never heard the word sub-par used to describe food at Dollywood.
