Wow nothing like being early and on the go.

They have already posted the information and registration for Holiwood Nights 2011.

So what happened to keeping the shirt logo a secret until you get there?

Awwww... whatta schweet flyer! Took me a minute to put it all together in my head :)

Can't wait to be there!

This will be the first year since I started going three years ago, I will not be going. I am going to North Carolina instead. With no new major rides (other then timberliners being ready, which I will be riding when ACE is there and 3-4 other times next season and probably the Fall Affair), it was an easy decision for me. Have never been to NC and am looking forward to being in the Blue Ridge Mountains for a weekend.

Yeah, think we will have to pass this year as well. Since Coastermania is the same weekend we will do that this year and visit HW later on in the summer.

Definitely planning to be there, once again in a Legendary cabin. And now that I'm a CBuzz Club member I don't have to mooch off someone else's registration. :)

I am planning on it as well - But Rv'ing in the campground. Hope to see some of you there!

If you do end up going to Coastermania instead, we'll be doing Fall Affair again this year, with GOCC on board. If I had to guess, we'll shoot for the last weekend with the water park. That turned out to be a big win for everyone.

Yeah the waterpark is a blast. We spent about half our day there last time. It is a great park and enjoy both the water and rides.

Hi Jeff -

I noticed on the calendar - that would be the weekend of September 17/18.

It states the 18th is closed for a Private event - the previous weekend 10/11 is closed up as well, can you advise if that is the appropriate date you're thinking? or if not when you might now by? I need to put in for my vacation requests soon.

Thanks

That was the same case this past Fall Affair, Jerry. We had the park on Saturday only and the next day was closed for a private event. It was still a pretty good time, especially with the water park.

Hope that helps.

What the heck is going on that weekend in that area? Hotels are going for almost $200 per night!

See the title of this topic. ;)

There is some truth to that. I have always stayed at the Comfort Inn in Ferdinand. I have seen them raise their rates for this weekend.

Wonder if it is something screwy with the Comfort Inn reservation site. I checked some of the other hotels and they are significantly less. I like the Comfort Inn but it is not worth $200/night, I don't care what is happening in Ferdinand Indiana.

Not only some, but a lot.

The hotels know you're coming. The good managers anticipate it. The bad ones leave money on the table.

Wow, it's like you're married to a hotel manager or something.

We always joke that I could fake my way through running a hotel just through the residual knowledge I've gained over the years.

At least 6 months before anyone even remotely suspected anything. :)

^ It's like some strange combination of Undercover Boss and Trading Spouses. :)

Ooh, can you have the God Warrior lady run your wife's hotel?? Gideon Bibles for everyone!

I'd totally make a trip to the hotel if God Warrior Lady were running it. That woman was hilarious!

I'm looking for a little help regarding Holliwood Nights. I'm a member with ACE but they have no forums and this site seems to have the most dialog going.

I was all excited to start getting my plane ticket, car rental etc for this trip (I'm from Niagara Falls) when I noticed that every coaster club on the planet is invited. Just how busy is this event? As much as I want to ride Holiday Worlds coasters I'm not sure if I would benifit from an ERT where I'm waiting 15mins in line and then having to exit the station between rides.

I'd appreciate any help.

You may have to wait initially for the Voyage, and at times thruout the nite. I doubt I've ever waited more than 10-15 minutes, and that's for the front or back rows. Plenty of re-rides can be had. And the event thins out the later it gets. Besides, it seems like quite a few people can't just Marathon Voyage, though some definitely can.

But I've never had to wait more than for a trainload on Raven and Legend, and on both, as the nite goes on, seats open up for you to just sit marathon. I ended the event this year with at least 5 consecutive rides on Raven in the front without getting off.

There hasn't been enough people their either time that I've went for the ERT to feel like a regular day with long waits. It's worth it. Besides, you get 2 nites of ERT, I think 5 hours total, in the dark. And if you've never ridden Voyage, you may be like many of us that have to ride, take a break, ride, take a break, so you won't mind the getting off, taking a break, and getting back on.
