I have no idea what they will build, but at least we don't have to wait too long (Oct. 4 according to Holiday World). But if you've been to HW then you know that it won't be something too intense. I know that Legend is very intense, but I mean I don't see them getting a huge steel muli-looper or a hyper. I only say this because the crowd when I visited seemed VERY tame compared to all of the other parks I've been to. I heard grown men saying they would never ride Legend again, and there was NO line for Legend and the park was pretty packed. HW plays to the family market and therefore while their existing coasters kick ***, I just don't see HW getting the brand new, hi-tech thrill rides. I hope it's a racing or dueling woodie. One other thing, the funniest thing I saw was a lady who wouldn't let her husband take their daughter on the Octopus (I think it's Paul Revere or something like that at HW). And the girl had to be at least 10 if not older. There were little kids laughing at the mother and I had to scoff also. I wonder what she did let her daughter ride that day.

Didn't someone say a while back that SRM was going to be later this year so that the 2002 addition, located in the waterpark, would be open for the event? Was it Lynch who said this?
I've heard that they have been going between quite a few idea for 2002, and i did find one of them out. But this was like near the start of the summer. I would look towards the waterpark though, it's been awhile since they added to it. ----------------- Montu, God Of Coasters
cool, a small park thats gonna get something big for '02, this sounds kinda like silver dollar city to me, maybe a B&M floorless?? or maybe its an intamin hyper or possibly a giga if there bragging about the size of it....

Silver Dollar City is a big park, it's just not a big thrill ride park, or ride park for that matter.

I think that Holiday World gets alot of the crowd that wants to take their kids to a park, but they want to avoid the mega parks. These people are not big coaster fans. This is basically Holiday world's entire advertising angle. Still, "big, Really Big" sounds rather large. This has to be a major ride of some kind. It would make since to enter the quest for a top 10 steel coaster, but is it economically feasible? A freefall tower would probably fit the budget much better.
it is, they can easily fit a B&M into there budget, but the thing is i don't know if they will do that. I would think they will work on there waterpark, or add more kid stuff or family stuff., hey maybe this is where one of the ArrowBATics is heading. ----------------- Montu, God Of Coasters
"Big" means tall in my opinion.. and I don't see them getting a coaster [from what I've heard about the park] so I am guessing maybe a drop tower or some sorts. [They don't have one.. right?].
I just doesn't seem like a park that would get a drop ride, but then again DCA has the Maliboomer. It's too family oriented for something like a drop tower IMO. But any number of modern flat rides could work. Just for those who don't know I'll try to list what they have (help would be appreciated):
Raven, Legend, a scrambler, octopus, tilt-a-whirl, bumber boats, bumber cars, round-up, whatever Rush Street Flyer at SFStL is, old time cars, log flume, rapids ride, a water park, a kids area with a small coaster, flying eagles (don't know what it's called but PKI has them also), and I know I'm missing some more but that's most of it.
So as you can see almost anything could be added, especially modern flat rides, but I think the more intense ones just wouldn't fit in with the family theme that HW just oozes with.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot, they have free soft drinks. As much as you want, and a lot to choose from.

That's what I was thinking. I'm thinking a drop tower or I can see a S&S triple tower fitting in quite nicely there. ------------- We're not White, Black, Hispanic, or Asian. We're American!
