Does anyone know if the teen Tuesday thing is just for the Splash Beach?
Here are my pictures from Visionland.

The kiddie coaster. That's my son in the second car. He's been a coaster enthusiast since 42 inches. He usually only rides the kiddie coaster when his younger sister wants to ride but this time he road it so we could get a picture of him on it and he got mad when it went around more times than it was supposed to.

Wow Kryten6000! Those are some excellent pictures! *** Edited 6/1/2005 4:37:42 AM UTC by Smeldar***
Man, if I had that camera, my pictures would look 100 times better than they do. What kind of camera is that anyway?

Oh, I remember the couple in the front row of this pic:

Hey, we need to meet up and really spend some quality time in the park on Saturday.

Oh well, I guess they didn't want to change the name of a ride that had such a similar layout as the original. I think it's good that Visionland is not choosing great names for not so great rides. I think they should save them for the better rides.

I use a Canon Digital Rebel. For most of those shots I used a 70-300mm zoom lens. That's how I was able to get in to close to the action on the Rampage and the shots taken from the Ferris Wheel.

I wouldn't mind meeting up but I always have my whole family in tow so it would probably be kinda hard to really hang out because they're constantly dragging me in several different directions. I'll probably be there Saturday. We usually don't stay all day but I really want to get some shots of the rides at night. We'll probably be there from about 4 or 5 until around closing if the weather isn't bad.

When I go to Visionland I almost always wear a yellow Willy Wonka shirt since its the only t-shirt I own that isn't black or some other dark color and you probably know what wearing black during the summer around here will do to you. I have shoulder length light brown sorta blondish hair and a goatee. If you think you've spotted me just approach and ask if I'm Kryten from coasterbuzz. I can't promise that I'll be able to hangout for long but my son and I can probably break away from my wife and daughter for a few rides on Rampage and hopefully Zoomerang.

Hope to see you there.

Yeah, I would like for my family to be with me as well, but I may leave my 2 year old and 1 year old with their grandparents or aunt.

I believe my dad has a camera like the one you have that produces beautifully colored pictures like the ones you took.

Thanks for the description, I will look you up. I can't tell you what I will be wearing just yet, but I will have my camera on my shoulder.

For all who will be at Visionland this Saturday for the ACE RRR event, I hope you have a great time and I look forward to seeing you there.

RRR was totally, officially, OFF the hook!

Kudos to the maintenance guys for staying with us 'til the very end, and to the management and staff at Rampage. Now I know what all the fuss was about...:)

CCI insanity + impeccable maintenance = :):):)

You got that right Bill. It's awesome to see a park know that they have a gem and strive to keep it that way. It just keeps getting better every year I've been there for the event.
And to set the record straight on the log flume, it appears that it is exactly the same log flume as before. The only difference is new troughs. So, it looks as though Dollywoods old flume didn't quite head this way as once thought.

Happiness is like peeing your pants. Everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth. Trip pics are here: http://www.pbase.com/jhbd99.
Hello folks. Enjoying the commentary on coasters big and small.

I'm a newspaper boy working on a story about Bessemer's Visionland, and would like to include some comments from anyone who's had a chance to ride lately, especially the new Zoomerang.

If you have anything you want to share, please write to me at mark.cobb@tuscaloosanews.com. We do have to use real names and cities, but please don't let that hold you back.

Thanks

Mark

Awesome photos, Kryten6000! I went to Visionland for the first time yesterday (6/25/05). Even though I've lived in Birmingham my entire life, I kept waiting for Visionland to add at least one more coaster before I decided to visit, and that finally happened this year. I wish that I had taken my new Canon Digital Rebel XT to get some images comparable to yours, but I decided to take my old Olympus D-520Z since I can stick it in my pocket and didn't have to burden my wife or sister-in-law with keeping up with it while I rode the coasters that they were too chicken to ride--not to mention that I wouldn't have felt comfortable leaving an expensive camera unattended during the rides that we all rode together. So, most of my photos are pretty crappy compared to yours. Perhaps I'll ask my mom who's too chicken to ride ANYTHING to go with us next time so she can be the keeper of the camera...LOL!

Anyway, we all had a blast--especially my 4-year-old son. I posted a full trip report along with links to the photos over in the Trip Reports section of the forum.
