Hershey 04 - Let's see who is right

Finally an Intamin looper in the US:)

Sounds like a vast departure from anything they have done so far, blending elements of many of there different types of coasters. This is definitely on my "to do" list for 04.

What do you have against California Screamin'? :)

I was just snooping around at RCDB. on their New for 2004, they have an entry for this as of yet un-nammed coaster. They do caution (in BOLD letters) that their stats are all conjecture at this point... but they have a total of 6 elements listed.

Just have to wait a few more hours for the "official" word from the park.

Yup...'High Noon' is officially 47 minutes away. I wonder if this will be posted on their site immediately.

RCDB also read that it will have a hydrolic launch system going from 0 to 72 mph. in 2 seconds. it said to have a top hat element so we know that means rocket coaster!

Yea, I got out of bed a little early this morning to check the site - and kicked myself for not realizing "high noon" actually meant noon :) Oh well, it was only 10 minutes of sleep lost - worth it if even half the rumors turn out to be true!

I wanted to add a thought that occured to me last night. I think most people agree this is a rather out-of-character move for Hershey but my two cents on why they did it: they saw Knott's get something that they knew would be an incredible ride. If Knott's got one, that means Cedar Fair as a company likes the ride, therefore the chances of it appearing at their other parks are good - other parks being Dorney and CP, both concievably within HP's market (CP as a resort/destination competitor, Dorney as a local). Perhaps they purchased the rocket before they saw if it was reliable to jump the gun on the Cedar Fair parks and establish the best rocket in the region? Just my two cents, take it for what its worth (very little)

SilverStar....both S&S and Premier have produced the Tophat element without a hydraulic launch...and frankly, I'd take Freeze over Xcelerator *every* time...it's only guaranteed to be a rocket once we assume Intamin manufacture and a Tophat...which DOES seem to be the case, but we won't *know* for another half-hour...;)
I know there are other top hats but this said it was gonna be built by IntaminAG so its a rocket coaster

Hmm...Looks interesting. I'm downloading the video of the ride now, its big, even for my cable modem. I voted for the name "Steel Stampede."

You guys have to download the on-ride video. That one element towards the end looks awesome. I guess thats the Flying Snake Dive looks like too much fun. I'm so making my first trip to Hershey Park next year!

Right Click the Movie Link and Save As Target, you can see how much has downloaded and have it on your PC.
