Its one thing when funny people (see Tekno, Moosh, gator) are funny. It's completely different, however, when not-very-funny people try to be funny. :) Have a nice day!------------------
I suppose that it's a good thing that I didn't try out for Last Comic Standing.

Something big's coming to HERSHEYPARK in 2004!
There's a cloud of dust on the horizon,
And when it settles there's gonna be 10 wild horses in the corral!
Remember, the secret's out August 5 at High Noon!
We'll all know the reality of this coaster on Tues.

RIDE TO COST $10 MILLION-PLUS
Hersheypark Adding 10th Coaster
HERSHEY, Pa. -
Hersheypark officials called a press conference for Aug. 5 to announce the addition of the park's 10th roller coaster, the third of its kind, for 2004.
It will be the second biggest investment in a ride ever for the park.
Costing in excess of $10 million, the Rocket Coaster will go from zero to 72 miles an hour in two seconds, said Frank O'Connell, general manager of the park, which first opened in 1907.
He said it will have a 150-foot top hat element that will go up vertically at a 90-degree angle, and plummet vertically in a 180-foot drop. It comes
from Intaride Ltd., of Glen Burnie, Md., which is the North American Division of Intamin AG of Wollerau, Switzerland. Sandor Kernacs is Intaride president.
The most Hershey ever paid for a ride before was for the Bolliger & Mabillard Great Bear Coaster that was added in 1998, costing in excess of $14 million. O'Connell said, "That was our last steel coaster. We're coming back to steel again. This will cost very close to what we paid for our Lightning Racer in 2001."
He said this is the third hydraulic launching coaster in the world. The other two are the Accelerator at Knott's Berry Farm, Buena Park, Calif., and Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point, Sandusky, Ohio.
"It will be the only hydraulic coaster in the world with inversions. After a launch climb to the crest, it will go into a power dive of 180 feet into a 135-foot cobra loop and then do two-and-a-half barrel rolls, what we are calling Flying Snake Dive, with air time.
"It's a quick drop and then up again toward the end of the ride. Providing air time is always popular with enthusiasts," said O'Connell. The ride will last approximately 50 seconds. It is on 2,600 feet of track that will cover four-and-a-half acres.
It will interact with three existing rides -- the Monorail, Dry Gulch Railroad, and Trailblazer --and be located in the Pioneer Frontier area."
O'Connell said a contest will be held to determine the name from three possibilities. They are Steel Stampede, Renegade, and Storm Rider. Work will
begin on the new ride the latter part of August and the grand opening will be Mother's Day weekend in May 2004.
TIS THE SEASON..
O'Connell described the season, so far, as challenging. But despite cold and wet weather throughout May and June, 15 record attendance days have been recorded, most occurring after the middle of June. The best drew more than 36,000 visitors on Saturday, July 19.
"Once we got past the cool and wet spring, around July 4, things have improved, but in-park spending seems to be soft," said O'Connell. "We're still hopeful that will pick up as we get into August, which is always our
busiest month."
While the grand opening was May 10, corporate buyouts were held April 12-13 and April 18-20, when a Springtime in the Park Celebration was observed, and
every weekend until the grand opening.
New additions this season are the 32-passenger Revolution from Chance Morgan; Larson International Flying Scooter; Mini Pirate from S.B.F. Visa;
and Eli Bridge mini-Scrambler that had been trailer mounted. Also new are a Ham on Rye theater, and new Chevrolet Music Box Theater which has more than
900 theater-style seats, compared to 412 in the old theater.
"We're very proud of the addition of a Memorial Fountain at the entrance with a statue of Mr. [Milton S.] Hershey, and our Coaster Cafe employee restaurant." Seating is for 320, compared to 115 previously. It has a full variety of seating with two plasma TV screens, hot meals and a variety of other food items at discounted prices.
Other Hershey Coasters are the Philadelphia Toboggan Comet, which was installed in 1946, and remodeled in 1978; Arrow Trailblazer, 1974; Schwarzkopf Superdooperlooper, 1977; Vekoma Sidewinder, 1991; Great Coasters International Wildcat, 1996; Bolliger & Mabillard Great Bear, 1998; Mack Wild Mouse, 1999; Great Coasters International Lightning Racer, 2001; and
Setpoint Roller Soaker, 2002.

-They said Great Bear was their last steel coaster. hmm, i guess Roller Soaker doesn't exist
-they said Lightning Racer opened in 2001, wrong, 2000. and that came from the GM!
- as said above Xcelerator was spelled wrong
- 135 Foot tall Cobra Loop? 135 feet is a big inversion, bigger than Jubilee Odyssey's Loop.
Where exactly is that article from?
