I hope I'm not hit on for another year or two (I just turned 14). I mean it would be cool to be hit on by a 17 year old girl but it would also be kind of scary.

HAHA!!! Well, im 14 and I got hit on at cedar point:) it was the Super Himalaya, and me and my 5 year old bro. got on. This chick (most likey 17) said "your little brother is so cute." and winked at me:) Then she stappled me into the seat and whispered something into the other ride ops ear and she had her eyes glued on me for the entire ride.... to bad it only lasted for 2 minutes:(

"I worked at Carowinds for 3 years in the late 80s1st year thunder road, meteorite(scream weaver),swings we had "groupies" girls who would hang out at the operators station and try to talk to us we watched the ride but the attention was nice
2nd year at the goldrusher we had a system for pointing out girls to each other we would say "32" that meant 3rd car second seat
3rd year on rip roaring rapids we talked this gorgeous blonde into riding the ride several times to get wetter and wetter and of coursewe would call ahead to the next ride observation spot to tell fellow employees when there was a beauty coming and what boat she was in"
While I understand we are human, that 3rd year thing is pushing it for a ride operator. You just admitted you (and your crew) would be paying attention to the girl as opposed to the ride. Thats pretty sickening. When you are a ride op it is your job to watch the ride, operate the ride, ensure guests safety. Not letting a wet t-shirt contest break out on your ride.
And I do understand we are human, and that as humans we will check out members of the opposite sex (or the same sex if your into that type of thing), but your a ride operator! You are responsible for thousands of peoples safety each and everyday, and not being 100% focused on that could (and in some cases) does create problems (injuries, deaths, etc)...Believe me, I know what happens when ride operators focus on other things (I work at SFMM)

I was just replying to this post about ride ops hitting on guests from a former ride ops perspective but I agree ride ops should watch the ride first so I wont argue that point

Two minutes huh? That's about normal....hehehehe
Honestly, I get hit on all the time (maybe it's my winning smile :)). But, I thought it was funnier when I was @ KW and one of the Phantom's Revenge ops was hitting on GregLeg...I swear I saw him blush ;)

Mrow!? Yeah, I know that chick. She's gross eh?
Nah seriously, I did my fair share of flirtation when I was a ride operator, but it went the other way too. A few times I even had guests ask to take pictures with me. And when I worked on Thunder Canyon I can verify that the guys paid a bit of attention to the girls wearing white, tight, or otherwise attention-drawing shirts (or lack thereof) on and off the water ride.
And then there was this one guy I flirted with when working on Mine Ride this past year, and I'm actually posting this from his house right now. I'm sure he'll be chiming in to this thread once I show it to him...

Flirt, me, never?
You know its bad when you have members of both sexes hitting on you.

are you a guy or gal RCTitan? if you're a guy thats just wrong and sick. I know I hit on girls alot while i was working rides.
Don't be such a HOMOPHOBE dude, you are offending alot of people. I guess we all were in high school at one point... but please, remember where hate starts. Either way, I think it's a compliment to be hit on by anyone, you should be happy. What if nobody ever hit on you, that wouldn't be fun.
But really, while you're working on a ride? That's dangerous territory. People are looking to you as an authority and safety. We were scared to death to do that kinda thing when I worked at Cedar Point, we were trained to be 'safety robots' there. (We are 138 for all those who get it :)

That is too far in my opinion. Mild things I could see but that is just pushing it, especially with some of the gestures being made between ops and also the conversation over the phone
