New Jersey park Six Flags Great Adventure today announced the construction of Superman: Ultimate Flight, a B&M flying coaster, for 2003. The ride is similar to the one that opened at Six Flags Over Georgia this year. Six Flags Great America, near Chicago, is expected to announce the same ride.
Read the press release from Internet Wire.
Don't even start with that clone crap.

“As the theme park with the most rides on the planet, we are thrilled to offer the greatest jaw-dropping, heart-pounding experience of 2003,” Black said.
*sigh* ... sad when they don't even know thier own stats..

Even if this ride is a direct clone of SFGA's B&M flyer everyone in the NY/NJ area should go to their knees. This is a great ride!
It took but one ride, at 3:30 AM one morning, to convince me that this concept is far better than X-Flight. That night I rode most of B&M's concepts, from a Batman clone to the stand up coaster Scorcher and the B&M's flyer is that companys ultimate ride.
If they clone this ride in every park in the nation, the result will only be millions of satisfied coaster fans. That is far more than I can say for all the parks that have boomerangs.

What have you gotten me into?
Why does this company move their management teams all around so much?
Oh, at least NJ locals won't lose their Arrow looper for a B&M Flyer like those in Chicago.

...sure looks a lot like the former Shockwave site at SFGAm, with some added landscaping.
Is Great Adventure's S:UF in, or next to a parking lot too ?
Could this be a rendering of what Great America's S:UF location will look like ?
...hmmm :)

When Six Flags is as cash strapped as they are, I think it's very smart of them to only have to do R&D on ONE design, and clone it. They are probably saving millions by doing this. Most bang for your buck, and only some whiney spoiled "enthusiasts" (for the lack of a better term) will complain.
Your park is getting a B&M... who cares if it's a clone, it's a B&M! Honestly.. how many people go back and forth between SFOG, SFGAm, and SFGAdv that are not enthusiasts that will even know that this ride exists elsewhere on the planet?
So you're upset it's a clone? Wah. Get over yourself.

Hey Mike Garrison,
I'm Mike Garrison. Wow that's pretty funny since I was confused at first and thought maybe during my sleep I had posted on this or something.
Wow

That certainly does look like the SFGAM plot, the only thing being that the parking lines at SFGAM go in a different direction. But for argument's sake, if it is a rendering for SFGAM and/or SFGADV's land plot, thank God they're not just dropping it in the parking lot like they did with Shockwave.
I for one, am grateful that Six Flags is adding another attraction to Great America. Even when they 'only' add a flat ride, I am thankful. Afterall, what do the parks really OWE us? Nothing! If we don't want to go there, we don't have to. It's all discretionary income.
(Puts flame suit on).
It lacks a tunnel :-/
Hey - does that mean it's not a clone!? ;)
It's unfortunate I probably won't be on this coast by the time it opens, but it's not exactly a surprising addition to Great Adventure's lineup. They have everything else, practically.

Let's just say I will be in no hurry to visit SFGADV.
I think the park only has two good coasters, Chiller and Medusa.
Don't get me wrong, Im happy locals will have another coaster but Im not in no hurry to ride another B&M in a park that is full of em
Chuck, who told the GM there what the park needs along with everyone else. GOOD WOOD.

Riiiiiight... 'cause God knows a park with four B&M's couldn't possibly be any fun.
Enthusiasts. Ugh...
