"Hate" is such a strong word. I usually reserve it for the Dark Knight Coaster and the Yankees.

If you have to pick a specific row just to get a smooth ride, it's still a rough ride.
This goes for Magnum and Beast. I rode both this weekend.....what P'sOS's!! TR to follow!

Man, I don't remember Rolling Thunder being anything to write home about, but I also don't remember it as the worst thing going.
I remember it as both...in it's later years, it was WAY closer to the "worst thing going." It had its day, though.

I also like that you can see a "+8" on something that maybe wouldn't have necessarily garnered a response before, makes you know that your contribution to the site or conversation is appreciated.
This. Because I agree, I try to say meaningful things for the positive reinforcement of a voteup. I might have had a Tyler phase at the beginning, I don't remember, but it sure as hell didn't last over a year.
Hi everyone, new to CB. I signed up simply because I have a question about this.
I've not been on Rolling Thunder, so I need a little help here. I know that there are many, MANY complaints about Mean Streak at CP (Rough ride, no airtime, trims, etc.), but how is it overall in comparison to RT?
Does RT have as much of a negative stigma at Great Adventure as MS has at Cedar Point? Thanks for your help.
I don't find Mean Streak to be all that bad. Sure, it's got it's rough spots, but I could overlook those of the ride wasn't so boring.
That being said, rolling thunder is a completely different kind of rough and boring.

It is also acceptable to use it in reference to the Dallas Cowboys :)
This Isn't A Hospital--It's An Insane Asylum!
I never had a "bad" ride on Rolling Thunder (worse than a park bench). Then again, I also almost never got interesting or remarkable rides. It was slightly rough, mostly boring.

Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
Not really much to it but if both sides are running its pretty fun, just make sure you get both sides to chant race. Still sad go see it go though.
If its not broken, don't touch it.
My ride last night...and my last on it for eternity...felt exceptionally fast and had very little roughness in a middle seat. The park also showed a tribute video to the ride on a screen near the ride's exit at around 8:45

I also rode it for the last time last night and it was as smooth as it ever was. The ceremony for RT was pretty good and everyone that attended the event is being sent a piece of the ride after they start the demo on it. My only complaint about the ride is the park could have taken off that stupid wrap on 1 of the trains for its last weekend of operation. RIP Rolling Thunder!
Here's a photo circa 1972 of Rolling Thunder being demolished last week (posted on the official Twitter):
You DO know what "circa" means, don't you?

Heck, even Doc and Marty would have trouble finding, in 1972, a coaster that opened 7 years later...
