Great adv. new ride?

4,680 days since I joined, and just 570 posts.

I'm going with quality over quantity, and hoping no one has been reading what I post.

I think it might be time to bounce Tyler. Not for anything blatantly offensive, but just for the sheer volume of noise and lack of self-awareness. That would be a CoasterBuzz first.

I like the vote up feature because it removed a lot of noise from the site... "me too" posts are few and far between now. I also like that you can see a "+8" on something that maybe wouldn't have necessarily garnered a response before, makes you know that your contribution to the site or conversation is appreciated.

Where it turns bad is if people use it to put some sort of value on themselves. Then it actually creates noise because people are trying to get their count up.

I don't know what the solution is... just throwing it out there. Bouncing people that are quite frankly abusing a good community's tolerance can't be a bad start, I guess.

I tried looking through Tyler's posts to find the actual link for the cartoon drawing he's been posting. He has so many posts/so much noise, I couldn't find it.

That being said, although I poke fun at him, I don't dislike Tyler, or anyone else on this site. As Gonch would say, it's never personal. Yeah, there have been people like Cropsey and ShiekraFiend who started posting profanity and had to go.

Tyler is just young and immature and needs to grow up. We probably all went through similar stages. It just was before the internet, so the whole world was not aware of our immaturity.

Tyler, you need to use that filter you keep telling us about.

That's not true. You can also create a new account and vote yourself up while claiming it's your brother. Well, at least for a little while.

I remember my first few posts and trying to "fit in" around here. There were quite a few posters here (either active, not so active, and some who have for whatever reasons are no longer around). I thank those who have helped me and for adding to my appreciation of this hobby.

Tyler, you have been given guidance, advice and even a few warnings from those who really know best.

PS - On one of my recent threads you took a shot (I'm sure in jest) at my son's age. I left your posting without responding because he has special needs that aren't always apaprent. I didn't want to get into Q & A with you about this...but your initial comment was a snide remark that added little to the conversation. Again, Please think before your submit.

Man, I don't remember Rolling Thunder being anything to write home about, but I also don't remember it as the worst thing going.

I couldn't tell you the last time I did a ballot for Mitch's poll (probably 4 or 5 years), but back then I had it ranked 65 out of 80 woodies. Sounds about right - best of the bottom 20%.

Only Woodie I had as worse was Hercules.

RT is far from the worst I have ever been on. I found it to be boring, but un-offensive and only slightly rough. Honestly, to me, it felt like Hershey's Comet.

Rolling Thunder was a decent ride a long time ago.

What it does now (or will do for a few more months) is add to the height perception of Toro.

It always looked great having the two rides together the way it worked out.
