GhostRider Seems Dangerous Now!

Is it even better then Roar?

What is life without geniuses?
On both of SFGAm woodies, American Eagle and Viper, at the beggining of the ride , before the lift, the lap bar unclicked and went one click higher. I thin it was because the ride op. cought me trying to make it about a few inches from my body and he made it so tight it did'nt click all the way. But it only happened twice and nothing bad came from it.

I have ridden Roar W. and GhostRider. I say Roar is a very very good coaster, but GhostRider is a bit better. Nothing can compare with the second half of this ride, awesome!
(side note) Cornball Express is about the size and length of GR's second half. (sort of) I wonder if that was the model?

"X" marks the spot in 2001!
Something that adds much to the second half is the tunneling supports. Since local regulations required LOTS of wood to cope with earthquake stress, the supports of the ride (which enclose the second half) basically create a strobing tunnel. Beginning with the drop of all drops, which locals have lovingly named "The Drop," you're in darkness no matter what time of day.

On second thought, I could go on for pages about little things that add so much to Ghostrider. Such as the theming, the smell of chicken, the horrifying screeching of the wheels leading up to The Drop, the rising speed, and of course, the fact your thighs are sore getting off the ride!
Nobody ever died on the ride. Though there was a board that came loose and injured a couple of riders the first year it opened.
