Something that adds much to the second half is the tunneling supports. Since local regulations required LOTS of wood to cope with earthquake stress, the supports of the ride (which enclose the second half) basically create a strobing tunnel. Beginning with the drop of all drops, which locals have lovingly named "The Drop," you're in darkness no matter what time of day.
On second thought, I could go on for pages about little things that add so much to Ghostrider. Such as the theming, the smell of chicken, the horrifying screeching of the wheels leading up to The Drop, the rising speed, and of course, the fact your thighs are sore getting off the ride!
